Tracking Diabetes on the Web Since 1995

This Web page brings together in one place descriptions of and links to only
those Web pages dealing with software for diabetes management, but is linked
to the 15 other On-line Diabetes Resources pages dealing with other Web
pages, other parts of the Internet, and other on-line services. Since
February 9, 2003, this page has been mirrored as the misc.health.diabetes

Log Sheet or Spreadsheet
A log sheet is an alternative or adjunct to software. There are a lot of
different log sheets out there, but the best, in my opinion, is one
developed by Jean-Fran+AOc-ois Yale, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine,
Crabtree Nutrition Laboratories, McGill Nutrition and Food Science Centre,
Royal Victoria Hospital, and Director, Metabolic Day Centre. I met with him
in Montreal in August 2002, and at that time he authorized me to make his
log sheet available on my Web site. Dr. Yale's log sheet lets you enter
blood glucose readings, insulin dosages, carbohydrate grams, and exercise
(which you can put on a scale of 1 to 5) for any hour of the day. Before
printing the log sheets remember to change the page layout to landscape and
when you are finished to change it back to the usual portrait layout. Two
pages of the log sheet cover the seven days of the week. It is an Adobe
Acrobat PDF file, which requires the free Acrobat Reader, available at

A spreadsheet is yet another way to track your blood glucose readings,
insulin dosages and ratio, carbohydrates grams, and exercise. Sally Hines
developed this spreadsheet template and kindly authorized me to make it

Web-Based Software
AIDA On-Line
AIDA On-line offers the opportunity to simulate the effects of changes in
insulin and diet on the blood glucose profile of a +ACI-virtual diabetic
patient.+ACI- You can run simulations without charge in your Web browser window.
The simulator allows you to see the effect of changes in insulin and diet on
the blood glucose profile of example patients with diabetes. AIDA On-line
provides 40 case scenarios with different problems to be solved by
interactively simulating the +ACI-virtual diabetic patient.+ACI- Users can add more
cases. The approach is not intended for individual patient glycemic
prediction or therapy planning, but is offered as an interactive
educational/self-learning tool. A downloadable version of the simulator is

Bayer Care: Blood Sugar Log

CBSHealthWatch
CBSHealthWatch by Medscape has a bare bones and hard-to-find blood glucose
tracker on its Web site. To get to it you need first to register then click

CWD Co-Pilot
CWD CoPilot allows patients to upload meter and insulin dosing data to an
online database. CWD CoPilot can generate graphs and charts from the data to
help patients identify patterns. The data can also be shared with a
patient's health care team. (There's a separate HCP registration area.)
While CWD CoPilot is sponsored by TheraSense, it supports the use of any
blood glucose monitor. Owners of TheraSense products can upload their data

DailyRating
DailyRating.com offers a question for you to answer on +ACI-What was your Blood
Sugar level today?+ACI- All readings are in mmol/L, which we don't use in the
U.S. and allow for only one reading a day. You can keep your ratings and
journal private (the default) or make them public. The site produces line or
bar charts from your readings. The neatest feature of this site is that you
can update your daily reading by replying to a daily e-mail from the site.

points out to me. +ACI-So, for example, if the current diabetes question is not
tracking what you need, then you can easily create another one that tracks

DiabetEASE
DiabetEASE Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, is the first site to provide
free on-line software that allows you to automatically upload data from any
one of several meters to track your blood glucose levels. Just connect your
meter to one of your computer's serial port with the meter's cable, click a
couple of times, and your data is displayed in easy-to-read graphs that can
be customized to show your blood glucose levels according to day, week,
month, or by events such as exercise or meals. The program also graphs
insulin.
Currently, the program works with these meters: LifeScan One Touch Basic
Meter (with data port)+ADs- LifeScan One Touch II Meter+ADs- LifeScan One Touch
Profile Meter+ADs- LifeScan FastTake Meter (with FastTake Adapter), the LifeScan

Roche Diagnostics, the manufacturer of Accu-chek meters, provides the
Diabetes Assistant, a free online tool allowing you to transfer Accu-Chek
blood sugar results electronically or enter by hand. It works with the
Windows operating system. You can transfer the results by hand or, if you
have Accu-Chek Active, Accu-Chek Advantage, Accu-Chek Compact, Accu-Chek
Complete, or Accu-Chek Instant DM meter, you can transfer them

Diabetes HomeCare Center
Rose Technologies Inc. in Bellevue, Washington, a developer of children's
software, sponsors the Diabetes HomeCare Center. The site provides an
electronic logbook as well as statistical and graphical analyses of the
user's blood glucose levels. The site has software that will download the
data from several blood glucose meters and transmit it directly to the Web
site. Currently, the program works with five meters: the Glucometer Dex,
Glucometer Elite XL, MediSense Precision Xtra, LifeScan One Touch II, and

The DiabetesResearch online glucometer project is a free resource designed
to assist in the self-management of diabetes. It's an interesting Java-based

Dia-Log.com, your On-Line Diabetes LogBook, lets you track your blood

Ecivon
Ecivon in Bluffton, Ohio, includes an on-line blood glucose monitoring tool
where you can enter glucose values manually that you and your health care
providers can view. It shows graph and list data, for before breakfast,
after breakfast, before lunch, after lunch, before dinner, after dinner, and
other. The site recently added numerous data graphing and tabular options
and soon we will have automated upload of the Ascensia Dex2, Ascensia Elite
XL, the Therasense Freestyle, and the OneTouch Ultra, with more later. The

Glucovance Daily Type 2 Diabetes Log
This online Daily Type 2 Diabetes Log lets you record all of your results on
a daily basis, helping you see what does and does not work in your diet,
exercise, and medication plan. The log calculates your daily and weekly
averages and lets you know if you're within your target range. What this
site does that I have never seen before is allowing you to return to update
your numbers without logging in with a password, etc., as long and you use

This general health site offers a range of diabetes tracking tools,

This new Windows program automatically interfaces with Accu-Chek Advantage,
Accu-Chek Complete, Accu-Chek Active and Accu-Chek Compact blood glucose
meters. It replaces Accutility, which Roche discontinued in March. The new

Balance PC
Aureliu Porumbescu, president of Proactive Metabolics Inc. in Gainesville,
Florida, writes that his company is now selling the high rated Balance PC,
which has been unavailable ever since MediLife Inc. stopped selling it.
Balance PC, a Windows-based product that offers total disease management for
individuals with diabetes, is one of the best diabetes management programs.
It includes a +ACI-smart health calendar+ACI- that lets you keep daily track of all
your health events, including insulin, BG readings and food intake. For food
intake it also includes a database of 18,000 foods with information on 12

Data Management System. It is designed specifically for reporting on your
blood glucose levels. By simplifying the process of downloading and
organizing your readings, Diabetes Tracker allows you to view and print
understandable charts and reports. You can download an evaluation edition

edition. Diabetes Tracker claims to import records from Bayer's Elite

Glucose Manager
This program for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 is designed to assist a person with
diabetes to track and evaluate their blood sugar fluctuations. Regular
checking of blood glucose by using any glucose meter can be entered directly
into the program on a daily basis or entered from a log book at one time
periodically. This program does not support downloading glucose monitor data
to the program. Ray Whittemore, who himself has diabetes wrote this program.

LifeScan Inc., a Johnson +ACY- Johnson company, in Milpitas, California
manufactures blood glucose monitoring systems and also provides diabetes
management software called One Touch (formerly In Touch). The current U.S.
version is 2.0. This program was designed for use on your PC with all of
LifeScan's meters that have a data port. The program requires Windows 95 or

intended for medical professionals, patients can download it too. Simply
complete the download program and indicate that you have at least two
patients in the block provided. It works with the Glucometer Dex Blood
Glucose Monitoring System and Glucometer Elite XL Blood Glucose Monitoring
System. It runs under Windows 95/98/NT/ME, and is supplied in two forms: as

Shareware and Freeware Windows Software
AIDA
AIDA version 4.3 is an an educational simulator of insulin and dietary
adjustment in type 1 diabetes. It contains a simple model of glucose-insulin
interaction in the human body. It is intended for simulating the effects on
the blood glucose profile of changes in insulin and diet for a typical type
1 patient. AIDA is freeware and runs on MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95/98,
and Windows 2000/NT. The main new features in version 4.3 are: (1) HbA1c
estimates provided for the blood glucose simulations+ADs- (2) an import/export
facility to allow case scenarios to be swapped between AIDA users+ADs- and (3)

ClearView Concepts in Harrison, Arkansas, offers a small spreadsheet program

Bg Tracker
Jim Berry wrote Bg Tracker to help himself closely track his blood glucose,
prepare charts, and to report to his doctor. However, it does not download
any blood glucose meter directly, so all readings have to be entered
manually. The program is freeware and does not require registration. It is
for Windows 95/98 and will not run under Windows 3.x. A correspondent
writes, +ACI-Jim Berry has released his BG Tracker 4. It is a complete redo of
his previous effort. It now has entries for pumpers and BP tracking. Still
no download from any meter but data entry is easy and automated as possible.

The Diabetes Daily Numbers
This is a simplified version of The Diabetic Daily Log (see below) for
tracking blood sugars, weight, blood pressure, and comments. It can be run
under Windows 2000/98/95 and Windows 3.1 and even MS-DOS. You enter blood
glucose levels manually. With the downloadable trial version you can enter
30 days of data, but a registered version costs +ACQ-25. The URL is

Diabetes Helper
James Fitzgerald in Medford, Massachusetts, offers this program free for
personal use if you can't afford to pay anything. Otherwise, you determine
the price. DiabetesHelper tracks glucose levels and medications. It also has
an appointment feature. It does not download data from any meter and the Web
site gives no indication what the operating system and system requirements

Diabetes Level Monitoring
This package allows users to track blood sugar levels. It will also produce
graphs and reports for the patients and their medical practitioners. The PC

The Diabetic Daily Log
The Diabetic Daily Log (TDDL) is a +ACQ-25 shareware program for DOS, Windows
3.1, and Windows 95 that will track daily activities of a diabetic. It will
record glucose test results, insulin/pill medication, weight, blood
pressure, exercise, meals, snacks, and general comments. These entries will
be used to generate screen and printed reports to be used to help you and
your health team (doctor, nurse, or dietitian) to help pinpoint problems in
managing diabetes. Various reports are generated to give the glucose
averages, glucose ranges, number of lows, highs, and normal readings within

Dia-Log v4.0 from C+ACY-S Solutions in Bicknell, Indiana, is a Diabetes Daily

and blood glucose levels. The program also performs comprehensive glucose
statistics. It runs under Windows 95, 98, or NT. You can download a trial

Excel Templates
Rick Calou has developed two Excel templates for graphically tracking your
BG levels. One, called Glucose, Time Diet, is simply glucose levels and
times and returns a graph and an accompanying place to list your food taken
for the day. This is basically the information your doctor wants in a log
but with a graph, giving a picture of what your BG has done in a day. The
other, called Glucose, Time Carbohydrate Diet, allows users, in consultation
with their physicians, to figure insulin doses related to your current blood
glucose level and carbohydrate intake. Rick stresses that the second method
must be done with your doctor. The link gives clear directions, but the

Glucom
Glucom v2.0 is an easy to use application from Paramount Software that will
record and communicate your glucose stability, accurately and informatively.
It will link to the Boehringer Mannheim range of glucose meters as well as

Glucose32.exe version 3.5 is a freeware program for downloading data from a

and Sof-Tact), Bayer (Glucometer Dex and EliteXL), and TheraSense
(FreeStyle) glucose meter and creating a useful printed output. This program

Glucose Journal and Database
Glucose Journal and Database version 1.0 is a database program by Jonathan
R. Allen of Nella+AF8-Ware software in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He says that
it is for people with diabetes who test their blood sugar and helps by
keeping an organized computer journal or diary of blood glucose test
results. Blood glucose records are always perfectly ordered by date and
time. A Master Journal displays all records, and four Custom Journals only
display records within user defined time/date/glucose /note ranges. This

Glucose Data Manager
Glucose Data Manager version 1.3.1 is a freeware program offered in either
French or English for managing your blood glucose testing. Data have to be
input via the keyboard only. This program is for Windows 95/98/NT, according

Grafiek (graphical display of blood glucose measurements)
Jos Creusen of Eindhoven, the Netherlands, created this Windows program for
his own use and is freely sharing it. The program is in English, Dutch,
Danish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.
It reads values from a file saved by Camit for Windows from AccuTrend meter,
which are marketing in the United States as Accu-Chek meters. It also works
with LifeScan's One Touch and InDuo meters, Bayer's Glucofast (Glucometer)
Dex meters, Roche's Accu-Chek Compete, and Abbott's MediSense Precision
Q.I.D. The final version of the program became available in March 2002 and
is 5.54 MB. URL is

Health
Health is freeware software application for people with diabetes and/or
hypertension (high blood pressure). It records and graphs your blood
glucose, blood pressure, weight, and A1c values. The BG values can be the
United States (mg/dl) or international (mmol/L) standards. The user has to
enter the readings manually. The data can be viewed in a line or bar graph.

My Diabetes Assistant
Raul Serrano says that he developed his program, My Diabetes Assistant, to
assist people with diabetes in tracking some of their everyday activities.
MDA is a reporting system in which you input data of as many daily
activities you wish that relate directly to your glucose control. From
simple glucose reading to meals, weight, blood pressure, etc., you decide
which you need to monitor. By reviewing/analyzing the reports you can
quickly decide how you're doing in the specific areas, and make needed
changes to your glucose management if needed. The VB6 runtime files must
exist on your system in order for MDA to run. You can download them from a
link on his site. MDA is freeware. A commercial version is also available.

NutriSoft sells three similar programs that sound good, but none of them can
be recommended for people with diabetes who want to use software to track
how their medications and/or insulin, exercise, diet, weight, and state of
health affect their blood glucose levels. None of these programs have
anything but the most basic blood glucose tracking, and all of them require
you to enter your blood glucose levels manually. NutriGenie makes versions
of its programs available on-line at many sites, but all of those for
diabetes management are severely crippled (they have limited databases and
permit nothing to be saved). Perhaps an even more serious criticism of
NutriGenie's products is that the company is essentially unreachable. It
does not provide a street address, only a post office box number. It does
not provide a telephone number, whether toll-free or local. It has three
e-mail addresses (nutrigenie+AEA-yahoo.com, NutriSoft+AEA-aol.com, and
71563.124+AEA-compuserve.com, but e-mail directed to any of these addresses goes
unanswered.

NutriGenie Diabetes Meal Planner
This program, version 4.4 for Windows, sells for +ACQ-59. It includes a database
of 8,000 items plus the user's own food database. Analyses: RDA, calories,
protein, carbohydrate, total fat, cholesterol, sodium, fiber, potassium and
calcium, USDA food pyramid. Features: blood glucose tracker, weight log,
diet history, blood pressure log, cholesterol profiler, weight control
planner, body mass index, caloric need and caloric expenditure calculators,
target heart rate calculator, caloric and nutrient distribution analyzer,
search and sort capabilities, convenient food database editing and
organizing tools, NutriGenie auto menu generator. The programs Sugar Content

QuickLog, with versions for Windows 95 and 98, is a free program that lets
you create a customized, computer-based log book. It will download blood
glucose readings from LifeScan's One Touch Profile, and interface programs
are in development for the other LifeScan meters. Jeff Kirchner designed
QuickLog to be used as a replacement for, or in conjunction with, your

Two Touch
Kirmo Uusitalo in Helsinki, Finland, offers easy-to-use graphical interface
for data transmission and analysis for LifeScan's One Touch II meters. Based
on the glucose level measurements, an estimation of the patient's daily
glucose level curve can be calculated and plotted. Samples can also be
inserted manually. Current versions are 1.8.0 for Windows 3.x and 1.9.0 for
Windows 95 / NT only. The Two Touch program is distributed using the
shareware concept. If you like the product and continue to use it after a
trial period of 30 days, you must register it. The registration price is

Altitudes LLC, for Palm handhelds that does a lot. It records blood sugar

intake, estimates insulin requirements based on the carbohydrate content of
meals, and features an integrated food database that shows the carbohydrate
content of over 4,000 foods. You can use the program free for a trial

DiaMac by Pagano Technologies Inc. in Thousand Oaks, California, is diabetes
analysis software for the Macintosh. It is for use on Macintosh Power PC
computers only and requires a LifeScan One Touch interface cable in addition
to a Macintosh Modem Cable to import data directly from a One Touch meter.

Animas Corp., the manufacturer of the R1000 Insulin Pump, offers ezManager
diabetes management for both PalmOS and Windows based desktop computers. It
contains the entire FDA food database, all fast food restaurants, and
ability to enter your own recipes and favorite foods for nutritional values.
There are entries for BG, insulin, activity, and notes. It charts and graphs
as well. You can learn more about ezManager and download it for a 30 day

FutureWare SCG in Orange County, California, offers two Palm programs for
diabetes monitoring:

Personal GlucoseTracker (previously called Diabetes Monitor) maintains a
color-coded graphical history of daily blood glucose, ketone, exercise, and
insulin readings. The readings can be printed in several formats, and can be
emailed to a physician's or other health provider's office. Also included is
a logsheet that can be printed for trips and travel. It also tracks up to
four prescriptions, and provides for prescription re-ordering on the

GlucoPilot is a diabetic management log for the PalmPilot or Palm III (or

GNU Gluco Control
GNU Gluco Control helps you to manage your diabetes. You will find detailed
tables, diagrams and statistics. It is platform independent and is written
in Java. The program is apparently still under development. The URL is

LXGLUC.wk1
LXGLUC.wk1, version 1.1, is a Lotus 1-2-3 worksheet for diabetes data
management. It is useable on every computer running versions 2.4, +ACI-portable+ACI-
or above of Lotus 1-2-3, such as the Hewlett-Packard palmtops 95LX, 100LX,
200LX and OG700LX that have Lotus 1-2-3 portable in ROM, or any other MS-DOS
or Windows machine. Currently, LXGLUC.wk1 runs only on English versions of
Lotus 1-2-3, although the author, Daniel Hertrich, is in Germany. The URL is

SugarLog
Daniel Gunderson's SugarLog maintains a log of your blood glucose readings
and comments and lets you print them with any word processing program. The
program is fast and easy to use. If you are running Windows, SugarLog will
appear in a DOS box. It is written in Perl so that it will run on any
operating system that will run Perl. The program has been tested without
problems on a Windows 95 box, a Windows 98 box, a Windows NT box, and a Unix
box and should run under MacPerl and any other operating system that will
run Perl. SugarLog is open-source software, which means that you can modify
it to fit your own needs. Mr. Gunderson is making frequent revisions of his
program. +ACI-Check back often,+ACI- he says. +ACI-If you don't see a feature that you'd
like, let me know.+ACI- Perl is also open-source, which means that SugarLog will
always be free. If you don't have a current version of Perl on your system,

By popular demand, I am starting to include diet and food software that can
help people with diabetes. There is a lot out there that I am not familiar
with, and I would appreciate your suggestions. Another good resource is

Life Form
Life Form software allows you to easily track just about everything about
your health, including what you're eating and how much you're exercising. It
includes all the nutrients that most people are interested in, including
calories, fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates, fiber, and protein. Life Form
contains a database of nutrient values for more than 13,000 foods. It is a
commercial Windows program, but you can download a trial version. The URL is

FitDay
FitDay.com is a free Web site designed to help you track and analyze the
important aspects of your diet and fitness. Your personal FitDay account
serves as a food and exercise journal. You track the foods you eat and the
exercises you do on a daily basis. Based on your journal entries, FitDay
analyzes your diet, exercise, and weight, generating graphical reports on
the important aspects of your fitness. The URL is

CalorieKing
CalorieKing Mobile Plus Edition for PalmOS, version 1.1.1, is a
user-friendly software application that allows you to track your daily food
intake and exercise. It works with the CalorieKing.com food nutrition

CalorieKing Mobile Edition for PalmOS, version 1.6.2, is edited to contain
the most common foods. All foods contain data for calories, fat, protein and
carbohydrate. It runs on PalmOS 3.0 or greater and lists for +ACQ-14.95.

CalorieKing Mobile Edition for PocketPC, version 1.0.4, is edited to contain
the most common foods. All foods contain data for calories, fat, protein and
carbohydrate. It runs on Windows CE 3.0 or greater and lists for +ACQ-14.95.

Computer Planned Menus
Nutritional Computing Concepts in Zionsville, Indiana, produces the Computer
Planned Menus program. It provides food intake analysis, menu planning
including automatic menu planning and recipe analysis. The food database
includes 16,000 foods and 123 nutrients including foods from USDA Version
14. Data can be uploaded from Bayer, LifeScan and ThereaSense meters. A

You can use this Windows 95/98 program to count calories, carbohydrates, and

Diet +ACY- Exercise Assistant Version 4.0
Keyoe Inc. offers four different versions of its food and health tracking
software for Windows and the Palm operating system. The software tracks food
intake with an inventory of several thousand common foods, including those
from popular U.S. restaurants, various exercises, such as walking, golf, and
tennis, and various health issues, such as plotting weight loss stats and

Discontinued Software
Accutility
Accutility Software for use with the Accu-Chek Compete meter was released in
December 1998 and discontinued in March 2001. Roche replaced it with
Accu-Chek Compass (see in the Windows section above).

Avandia.com
The Avandia.com Web site announced in September 2001 that it is
discontinuing its +ACI-Online Blood Sugar Tracker+ACI- within two weeks. The tracker
logged and graphed the blood glucose measurements that you entered manually.

BioStore
BioStore Pro Version 3.0 for Windows and BioStore L from BioStore
International Inc. in Canyon Country, California, are no longer marketed. A
demo version limited to 50 records is, however, still available on-line at
ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/diabetes/software

Blood Glucose Monitor
Blood Glucose Monitor Version 1.1 was MS-DOS shareware in support of a One
Touch meter, according to Michael Wolfe available from the CompuServe

Blood-Sugar.com provided an online glucose monitoring tool along with health
and medical information. Manuel Lynch, in Orange, California, the founder of
HTMLFusion, which provides programming services and networks for medical and

Camit for Windows
Camit for Windows from Boehringer Mannheim Corp. in Indianapolis, Indiana
(now Roche), is now available to the healthcare professional market only and
is no longer sold for home use. Roche replaced it with Accu-Chek Compass
(see in the Windows section above).

Control Diabetes
NutriGenie's program called Control Diabetes, version 1.2, is no longer
listed at the company's Web site. It calculates fat, cholesterol, sodium,
carbohydrate, protein, and calorie intake and analyzes diet based on
supplied data for the common sugars and more than 500 foods. This program
for Windows 3.x is shareware that you are free to try and +ACQ-29 if you decide
to keep it, according to ZDNet's Software Library at

DiabetesManager.com
The company advises that, +ACI-due to the current economic uncertainty, our key
strategic partner has made the difficult decision not to continue funding
DiabetesManager.com.+ACI- This Internet-based medical service company in
Colorado Springs, Colorado, provided decision support to control your
diabetes based on your physician's prescription. On the site you could enter
your home glucose monitoring results accompanied by information about diet
and exercise and receive recommendations when necessary to improve your
glucose control. The program was available for +ACQ-20 per month with a 30 day
money back guarantee. The URL was

DiabetesNow
This Web site sponsored by Abbott Laboratories, the manufacturer of
MediSense meters and other products for people with diabetes, included a
section where you can manually log your blood glucose, ketones, and HbA1c
levels and insulin doses. The company took the site down in February 2002.

This program from Orchard Enterprises in La Mirada, California, seems to be
no longer available. It had supposedly been available for +ACQ-29.95 plus +ACQ-3.50

Jonathan R. Allen's Gluco+ACo-Health, version 1.00, was a database program for
people with diabetes who test their blood sugar. It helped its user keep an
organized computer logbook or diary of blood sugar test results. A master
logbook displays all records, and two custom logbooks display only record
within user defined time/date/glucose ranges. This shareware program, which
sold for +ACQ-36.95 when you register it, has been replaced by Jonathan's
Glucose Journal and Database, described and linked in the shareware section
above.

Glucostat
This +ACQ-65 Windows 3.1 program from Glucoware in Cleveland, Ohio, is no longer
available. +ACI-GlucoStat is no longer being sold,+ACI- writes Gary Argento. +ACI-Could
not get the sales volume I needed to continue marketing it.+ACI- However,
existing users will need to upgrade the program to avoid Y2K problems. That

The Green Door
The Green Door by Coleman Green of Sacramento, California, offered three
versions of its diabetes management programs plus a separate meal exchange
program. He writes in June 1999 that he no longer markets them.

The Diabetic Assistant was the complete package.

The Recipe Analysis was a stand-alone program that allowed the user to
design and modify recipes using an included food database.

The Medical Dairy allowed users to record and print out their daily
medication and blood test results.

The Meal Exchange program helped users figure out the required amounts of
the food exchanges that are in a diet for a given number of calories. It
also figured out the percentages of carbohydrates, protein, and fat that
make up the total calories. It let the user make changes, and then it would
calculate the calories and print out a form with the information.

LifeHealthy
LifeHealthy's Your Personal Health Management Journal included the ability
to log and keep a simple graph of your blood glucose readings. The company's
Web site is down and their phone has been discontinued.

Level
This +ACQ-79 program for Windows 3.1 from HealthWare in Buena Park, California,
does not seem to be available. The toll-free phone number listed by Michael
Wolfe, [phone] does not appear to be in service. Perhaps you could

Medmaster
This was a Windows program, but seems to be no longer available. Costing
+ACQ-79, it had been available by calling [phone], which no longer works.

MedMonitor
MedMonitor version 1.01 from DataMass Software Inc. of Washington, Missouri,
phone [phone], is apparently no longer available. It offered Windows
95 software to monitor your medicine. According to e-mail from Tim Albrecht,
the vice president and founder of DataMass, +ACI-The MedMonitor V1.01 will help
you keep an inventory of your medications, help you keep track of what
medications you have taken and what you have not, helps you keep track of
your prescriptions remaining for each medication and prescription numbers,
glucose test results and produces a properly formatted test report for your
doctor to be able to adjust your medications+ADs- it also helps you keep track
of changes your doctor makes in your medications or related devices, it
provides necessary information for you to be able to tell if your insulin is
fresh or not, and it even has a calendar built in to keep track of your
appointments and milestones. The normal cost of MedMonitor V1.01 (Diabetes)
+AFs-is+AF0- only +ACQ-45.00 after a +ACQ-20.00 mail-in rebate...the price to U.S. Veterans

Mellitus Manager
Mellitus Manager Version 4.5 by MetaMedix Inc. of Escondido, California, was
discontinued in September 2000, following the iMetrikus Inc. acquisition of
MetaMedix.

The Quantitator
According to Children with Diabetes's +ACI-Computerizing Your Meter+ACI- page (see
above) Drug ID International Inc. sold THE QUANTITATOR software which,
according to Drug ID, converts the daily insulin regimen into hourly amounts
of insulin released to the body. However, this site is no longer reachable.
