  40.
  41. 1.1 What is a FAQ?
  42.
  43. FAQ is an acronym for Frequently Asked Questions (or, as some have
  44. suggested, Frequently ANSWERED Questions), a periodic posting of
  45. information regularly requested on Usenet newsgroups. FAQs posted to
  46. news.answers are archived at
  47. ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet/news.answers. Hypertext versions of
  48. posted FAQs can be found at:
  49. http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/hypertext/faq/usenet/top.html
  50. The Libraries FAQ arose out of questions asked on soc.libraries.talk
  51. and other library related newsgroups. It is a collection of basic
  52. information regarding libraries and librarianship and an introductory
  53. guide to library resources on the Internet.
  54.
  55. 1.2 Where can I find the latest version of the Libraries FAQ?
  56.
  57. The Libraries FAQ is posted on the 16th of every other month to
  58. news.answers, soc.answers and soc.libraries.talk. It is archived at:
  59. ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet/news.answers/books/library-faq
  60. A continually updated hypertext version of the Libraries FAQ can be

  63.
  64. 1.3 How can I contribute to the Libraries FAQ?
  65.
  66.  The Libraries FAQ has benefited enormously from the input of its
  67. readers. Your comments concerning updates, additions, or corrections
  68. to the FAQ are always welcome. I would especially like to hear about
  69. important library resources outside the US and Canada. Please send
  70. suggestions to Anthony Wilson (paw@iglou.com).
  71. The Libraries FAQ was created by Steve Bergson
