  47. Search and Replace looks through multiple files for a string and
  48. can also replace it with another string.  It can search
  49. subdirectories and ZIP files and do case sensitive or insensitive
  50. searches. Extensive support for regular expression (egrep) search
  51. & replacement includes operations that span more than one line,
  52. insertion of the path & filename during replacements, and
  53. incrementing number replacements. Binary search & replace mode can
  54. be combined with regular expressions.  Precise control over
  55. replacements is available through multiple confirmation options
  56. and a built-in context viewer that allows you to view replacements
  57. in- context, before they are made. An HTML Mode can be used to
  58. make html special character code substitutions during
  59. search/replace. Ignore Whitespace mode makes it convenient to

  89. The "Wizard" allows you to construct &/or modify regular
  90. expressions for use in our Search and Replace utility. The program
  91. can be used to help you learn the syntax or debug complex
  92. expressions involving many operators. You can visualize the effect
  93. of each of operator in a sample text pasted into the Wizard from
  94. the clipboard or retrieved from disk. Operator effects are
  95. presented in-context, using colors to distinguish the current term
  96. from other parts of the overall expression. When you are
  97. satisfied, the final expressions can (optionally) be inserted the

  107. A multipurpose directory comparison and file manager that provides
  108. features missing from Windows 95/98/ME and NT/2000 or higher. It
  109. displays single directory lists or side- by-side directory
  110. comparisons using color coding for alike, different, or missing
  111. files.  Comparisons can be based on dates or a binary file analysis
  112. of file content.  You can copy, move, & rename files while retaining
  113. long filenames and six built-in synchronize functions simplify
  114. updating directories. Built-in archive functions, with Explorer
  115. shell extensions, let you create & manage archives from Explorer and
  116. use Directory Toolkit as your primary archive manager for supported
  117. archives (zip, tar, gz, lz (read only), & cab).  File operations and
  118. directory comparison functions work seamlessly on files in archives,
  119. e.g., no need to manually extract files first. Other features

  143. Funduc Software ZIP Extractor (freeware) 
  144. ========================================

  146. A ZIP "self-extractor stub" that lets you turn your ZIP files into a
  147. self-extracting executable that will automatically unZIP the archive
  148. when launched. This allows you to share your zip files with another
  149. person who might not have an unzip software on their computer &/or
  150. who might have only occasional use for an unzip tool. The self-
  151. extractor allows some or all files to be extracted, create the paths
  152. in the zip file (default) or "flatten" the directory structure
  153. (unzip into a single path), or extract some (or all) of the files in
  154. the zip. Cost: Free.

  158. Registry Toolkit (shareware)
  159. ============================
  160.  
  161. Registry Toolkit lets you search &/or replace and edit the Windows
  162. registry.  You can specify the data types to process, start key,
  163. case sensitive, whole word.  Regular expression operations using
  164. an egrep-type syntax are also available.  You can create/edit
  165. keys, values, &/or data manually if you wish.  A unique
  166. 'operations' function lets you move/copy/delete/export values you
  167. select.  For example, you can copy/move keys from one location in
  168. the registry to another.  The program keeps multiple 'undo' files
  169. that can be used to reverse previous changes (10 is the default).
  170. An automatic 'last change' undo is available from the program GUI.
  171. Replaces can be previewed in advance, in- context.  Replaces can
  172. also be previewed in the context of an overall search - a
  173. comparison dialog then lets you select/deselect specific
  174. operations to perform before making the overall replace. The
  175. program can print search & registry browse results.  The .reg
  176. import function allows you to compare existing data vs data to be
  177. imported - specific items can then be selected/deselected.  The
  178. .reg export function can be used to make special .reg files that
  179. delete keys when merged via Registry Toolkit or our new RTMerge
  180. program (see our web site). The various program comparison dialogs
  181. are configurable and their contents can be copied to the windows
  182. clipboard.  The program can read DOS environment variables and use
  183. them in a search/replace. Script file & command line functions are
  184. available for automated &/or complex operations.  Registry Toolkit
  185. will operate on a remote registry (if you have permission to do
  186. so).  A German interface is available. Cost: $25

  190. RTMerge (shareware/freeware)

  193. Registry Merge is a command line utility that merges .reg files
  194. into the Windows registry. While this can be accomplished using
  195. regedit.exe, RTMerge has two added features: 1) The program can
  196. serve as a 'stub file' to automatically apply a .reg as an .exe.
  197. The .exe is prepared in advance. End users can then apply the .reg
  198. simply by clicking on the .exe. 2) The program can apply .reg
  199. files that delete keys. This is something not easily accomplished
  200. via regedit. See the program readme.txt for usage instructions.

  205. Folder Synchronize (shareware)
  206. ==============================
  207.  
  208. Folder Synchronize is a command-line utility useful to network
  209. administrators and other power users.  It provides a subset of the
  210. functions in our Directory Toolkit utility, namely, the comparison
  211. & synchronize functions.  We created Folder Synchronize for those
  212. who needed those functions but not the GUI interface & other
  213. functions of Directory Toolkit such as archive management, file
  214. operations, etc. Folder Synchronize is a native 32-bit Windows
  215. executable.

  217. Folder Synchronize can synchronize two paths using one of 6 synch
  218. methods. The program can also do a comparison-only. This is useful
  219. with the output report function. When the output report is enabled
  220. it will contain a summary of the path comparison &/or a summary of
  221. the file operations carried out by the synchronize. Other features
  222. include: Switchable display (or not) of a progress meter; A custom
  223. bitmap & message of your choice can be displayed on the screen while
  224. an operation progresses; A 'No Cancel' switch can be used to make it
  225. less easy for a procedure to be interrupted; Require (or not)
  226. confirmation of file operations; Complex include/exclude file masks
  227. that let you include/exclude some file or subdirectories while
  228. including others; Multiple operations can be submitted to the

  233. Folder Synchronize Script Editor (currently freeware)

  236. The 'Script Editor' is used to generate (or edit) script files
  237. that can then be used with Folder Synchronize or our Directory
  238. Toolkit utility. The script switches are presented in an organized
  239. arrangement. The display of related switches can be
  240. collapsed/expanded for readability.

  244. File Merge Express (shareware)
  245. ==============================

  247. File Merge Express is a file comparison and merge utility for 32
  248. bit Windows. The program displays a contents comparison of two
  249. files and can (optionally) create a third file consisting of the
  250. merge of the two files being compared. That third file can
  251. (optionally) be opened in the built-in text (or binary) editor.
  252. Multiple configurations choices are available for the file
  253. contents comparison and the merge file contents including:
  254. difference prefixes, display colors, whether or not to include
  255. common sections, etc. Command line switch and a script syntax are
  256. available for your automated routines. The program also includes a
  257. Windows Explorer extension that allows you to launch a comparison
  258. from Windows Explorer. Cost: $25

  262. Application Mover (shareware)
  263. =============================

  265. Application Mover is a tool that relocates installed programs from
  266. one path to another on your hard disk. Application Mover takes
  267. files found in the path you specify and moves them to a new path
  268. that you specify. Application Mover scans the windows registry for
  269. references to files located in the 'Current' field and changes
  270. those references to the New path. Application Mover also scans all
  271. windows shortcuts in the Start Menu and adjusts path references to
  272. the new program location. Finally, *.ini and Install.log files
  273. present in the original program path are checked for strings
  274. matching the old path location. If found, these strings are
  275. changed to the new location. Confirmation dialogs are available.
  276. If a file is 'busy' and cannot be changed to the new location, a
  277. reboot prompt is offered. Pending changes are then completed after
  278. the reboot. Cost: $15

  282. Application Inventory (shareware)
  283. =================================
  284.  
  285. Application Inventory is a utility that scans your system for
  286. program .exe files and generates a configurable report about the
  287. files that were located. Optional follow-up scans are then
  288. initiated automatically to cross reference the initial scan
  289. results with windows .lnk shortcuts and/or references in the
  290. windows registry.  Further details on files are available from
  291. Properties and References dialogs.  Include and exclude filters
  292. are available to define the initial search by path &/or string(s)
  293. found in file version information. The fields included in the
  294. initial file scan are configurable.  Results be sorted, copied to
  295. the clipboard, printed, or saved in a delimited file you specify.
  296. Application Inventory can also launch windows explorer on the path
  297. containing a file in the results list. Although Application
  298. Inventory is intended as a reporting tool, various windows
  299. properties sheets can be launched that allow you to make edits to
  300. file or shortcut properties. The program defaults to scanning for
  301. .exe files but a special switch is available to scan for another
  302. file type that you specify. Cost: $15

  306. Duplicate File Finder (shareware)

  309. Duplicate File Finder is a tool that locates duplicate files on in
  310. one or more paths.  Unlike other utilities that only check file
  311. names, Duplicate File Finder performs a binary comparison of file
  312. contents and can locate files that are alike regardless of names.
  313. The scan can be defined by path, file mask(s), and (optionally)
  314. with complex filters for size/date/attribute.  Results can be
  315. copied to the windows clipboard or saved to a tab delimited file.
  316. Functions to delete files, launch Windows Explorer, and show file
  317. properties are available.  You can also launch a file in the
  318. results list by double clicking. Cost: $15

  322. Shortcut Doctor (shareware)

  325. Shortcut Doctor allows you to check your Win 95/98/ME NT/2000
  326. links/shortcuts and see which contain targets which can no longer be
  327. found. The program can then delete the shortcuts, resolve them, or
  328. carry out search/replace operations to modify shortcut fields with
  329. or without validation of new paths. Network Drive mappings can be
  330. inserted in the Replace dialog automatically. Individual shortcuts
  331. can be edited and all shortcuts on a drive can be displayed,
  332. regardless of whether they are valid or not. Explorer Internet URLS
  333. can also be checked for problems. CD-ROM drives, network drives, and
  334. specific paths can be ignored during processing. Includes an Empty
  335. Recent Documents button. Script files, run from the command line,
  336. allow you to do multiple operations, control program options, and
  337. easily specify complex paths. A German interface is available.

  345. Funduc Explorer Extensions is a collection of enhancements for the
  346. Windows Explorer right-click context menu: a) Encode and Decode
  347. Email attachments - support for UUENCODE, Base64(Mime),
  348. BinHex(Mac), XXENCODE, quoted-printable, 7 bit unencoded, & plain
  349. text, b) Split and Concatenate large files into smaller ones for
  350. storage on floppies & visa versa. Split can be based on file size
  351. or a string found in a file, c) Touch files - change the time,
  352. date, & attributes of files. Touch can add (or subtract) a user
  353. specified time value from the current file time. d) File
  354. Operations - copy/move/rename/delete files using complex file
  355. masks. The program can also change case of file names & number
  356. files. A German version is also available. Cost: $15.

  360. Drive Bar (shareware)
  361. =====================

  363. Drive Bar allows you to conveniently open views of your drives in
  364. Windows Explorer. Drive Bar's Auto Hide function allows it to
  365. disappear from view when not in use so that it does not take up
  366. screen space when not in use. You can resize Drive Bar and have it
  367. remain visible at all times if you like. You can also specify a File
  368. Manager program to use instead of Windows Explorer, launch drive
  369. views as "Tiled" or not, not include specified drives in the list of
  370. drive icons, and have Drive Bar run automatically at Windows startup
  371. (see Options). Cost: $10.

  375. Delivery Agent (shareware)

  378. Delivery Agent is a send-only e-mail program, with mail merge
  379. functions, for use by web site managers, network administrators,
  380. customer relations and support personnel, etc.  The program is
  381. used to deliver frequently used, customer-requested e-mail
  382. messages (& MIME attachments) such as newsletters, product
  383. delivery & announcements, support notes, etc.  Messages can be
  384. sent to one or more users by selecting a message from a list and
  385. entering the users' address.  The program can read a text file
  386. containing a list of addresses for bulk delivery.  Recipients of
  387. bulk deliveries are shielded from seeing the other recipients in
  388. the list.  The program checks a POP e-mail account prior to
  389. sending message via SMTP - useful for servers that 'validate' the
  390. users current IP address prior to mail relays.  Version 3.0 adds
  391. MAPI support.  When activated, the program will route outgoing
  392. messages to your primary MAPI-aware e-mail program.  Mail merge
  393. field name definitions, variable names, and data are stored in a
  394. single file containing the data and e-mail addresses.  Variable
  395. names can be anything you like (except for the name of the e-mail
  396. address field). Mail Merge 'Constants' can also be defined.  The
  397. program has a customizable header function that can be used to
  398. send web mail' or 'HTML mail'.  The "To: " field can also be
  399. customized for bulk, non- mail merge deliveries.  Port settings to
  400. use and maximum number of recipients per block can be configured
  401. manually.  Settings and messages can be created via the program
  402. GUI or, once you are familiar with the program, via an external
  403. text editor.  A full complement of command line switches allows
  404. the program to be incorporated into your .bat routines.  A log
  405. file of deliveries can be enabled (or not).  Cost: $25.

  409. Update Toolkit (shareware)

  412. Update Toolkit is command line utility that provides 4 
  413. functions within a single application:
  414. - Moving/copying files
  415. - Changing and checking Windows shortcuts
  416. - Searching and changing the Windows Registry
  417. - Searching and changing text files
  418.  
  419. Update Toolkit is oriented towards administrators who need to
  420. perform these operations on multiple workstations. The program is
  421. launched with a single command line. Because no graphical user
  422. interface is involved, no special steps are required to disable a
  423. program GUI when routines are run on individual workstations.
  424. Progress meters and confirmations are available if you like but
  425. these can be easily disabled. Unlike some other 'program mover'
  426. type applications that give little control over the steps to be
  427. taken, Update Toolkit allows you to specify all aspects of
  428. operation. Furthermore, you can use any combination of the areas
  429. of functioning. For example, you can use the file
  430. copy/more/compare functions and not the other three. Or you can
  431. modify shortcuts and examine the registry but do nothing with the
  432. file or text search/replace functions.

  436. Count Characters (freeware)

  439. Copy most Windows controls' data to the clipboard!  That's just
  440. one of the features of this freeware program from Funduc Software.
  441. The program can report the type and content of some of the windows
  442. currently displayed on your desktop and for the most popular types
  443. of controls (including lists and trees) it can copy their contents
  444. to the clipboard.  You can also copy the contents of password
  445. fields and regular text boxes. Cost: Free.

  452. DupBlock is a freeware utility that generates blocks of text based
  453. on a template and variables you specify.  The user enters a
  454. default text block and defines the variables. Variables can be
  455. printf- style counters or list variables.  Output can be sent to
  456. the windows clipboard or a file, append mode or not.  An example
  457. use of DupBlock is generating a scripts for one of Funduc
  458. Software's other utilities that uses script files for automated
  459. tasks. Cost: Free.

  463. HexView for Windows 95/NT (freeware)
  464. ====================================

  466. HexView allows you to view, print, print preview of any file as a
  467. Hex Dump. HexView is intended as a free companion program to our
  468. utility, Search and Replace. However, it is a standalone application
  469. and you are free to use it as you see fit.  The source code (C++
  470. using MFC 4.x or higher) can be downloaded for free from
  471. http://www.funduc.com. A Japanese version is available.

  475. INI to Registry (freeware)
  476. ==========================

  478. This program works well with any program that relies on .ini
  479. files. It can read the contents of any INI file and load them into
  480. the Windows registry.  That way programs which previously used INI
  481. files can read the old data from the registry. The program is
  482. free. The source code is available for $25. Please E-MAIL

  487. DBComp (Freeware)

  490. DBComp is a database comparison and merge application. The program
  491. performs two basic tasks: 1) The Compare Data Sources function
  492. compare two OBDC data sources for alike vs. different records and
  493. generate a Difference File that lists the records that either do
  494. not match or have been added/deleted from one data source compared
  495. to the other. 2) The Merge function examines a Difference File
  496. generated by DBComp and updates the specified data source via SQL
  497. statements. You can view the SQL statements in advance and remove
  498. one (or more) in advance if you wish. DBComp can be used to update
  499. remote data sources when it is impractical or inefficient to
  500. distribute an entire copy of the database to the remote location.
  501. The program can also be used to examine a data source against an
  502. archived (older) copy for the purposes of debugging or historical
  503. examination. Cost: Free

  507. Decode Shell Extension (freeware)

  510. This very popular freeware app is an extension for Windows
  511. Explorer. The program allows you to decode Internet email
  512. attachments by right-clicking on a saved message file from
  513. Explorer and selecting Decode from the menu. The program supports
  514. multiple attachments, multi-part files (already concatenated),
  515. UUENCODED, Base64(MIME), BinHex (Mac format), quoted-printable,
  516. XXENCODED, plain text files, and User (table) encoded files. If
  517. the attachment contains only one file, Decode Shell Extension will
  518. offer to open it using either the associated program or Notepad.
  519. For virus safety reasons, it will not offer to launch .exe., .com,
  520. .bat, & .cmd files. You should scan decoded Word and Excel files
  521. with your anti-virus checker before loading them. Cost: Free.

  528. Word Search and Replace is a freeware Word macro for Microsoft

  532. Matching', Case Sensitive, and Whole Word. Cost: Free

  563. created for users who find it necessary to make manual changes to
  564. the Windows time zone and 'day light savings' offset parameters.
  565. TZAdjust is probably of greatest interest to Windows NT-class
  566. users. NT/2000/XP returns time information as an offset from
  567. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). In addition, the OS automatically makes
  568. Daylight Savings compensations when reporting file times. One can
  569. disable "Automatically Adjust for Daylight Savings" entirely in
  570. the Windows Day/Time Properties dialog but there may be other
  571. instances where finer control over time zone and the daylight
  572. offset is desired. Do not use TZAdjust casually. Be sure to read
  573. the information in the 'readme.txt' before using this program.

  594. Created for software authors, this is a two part program that is
  595. used to make patches for updating registered versions software.
  596. Both the Patch Creator (used on the developer's end) and the Patch
  597. Applicator (which is what applies the patch on the end user's
  598. machine) are easy to use GUI programs. Command line switches or
  599. complicated run instructions are not necessary on the user's end.
  600. The Creator and Applicator are GUI Windows utilities. You can
  601. require passwords to run the Applicator (or not). Patches can be
  602. created to update files on users' machines from a specific
  603. version, add files regardless of existing version, remove files,
  604. or rename files. Patches that conduct 'updates' are based on
  605. binary differences between old vs. new files. Compression can be
  606. used to further reduce the size of the patch. Patches for multiple
  607. versions can be include in a single patch file. Patches can be
  608. configured to use a registry value on the end user's machine for
  609. setup path information and the applicator can also write a .reg
  610. file to the user's registry upon completion. In addition, patches
  611. can be set up to halt operations if specified files(s) are not
  612. found on the end user's machine. This can be used, for example, to
  613. not patch any files if a critical file you specify is not present.
  614. The Patch Creator has a script language for saving complex patch
  615. setups and it can be run from the command line for use in

  623. Also a tool for software developers, the Decode/Encode DLLs can be
  624. called from any Windows programming language (such as VB, Visual
  625. C, Powerbuilder, etc.). It allows you to automatically detect if a
  626. given file is UUENCODED, Base64(MIME), XXENCODED, BinHex, encoded
  627. with a user-supplied table, quoted-printable, or plain text. The
  628. DLL can then decode the file(s) either in the current directory or
  629. in one specified by the user. Binary files can also be encoded for
  630. transmission over the Internet. Functions are available for
  631. encoding/decoding to/from memory buffers, listing message body
  632. text, and message headers. Utility functions for split/concatenate
