  30.          The Major Software Packages available via anonymous ftp
  31.                             from the
  32.                      Network Research Group
  33.                              at the
  34.                   Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory
  35.  
  36. Unless otherwise noted, the latest version of each package is named
  37. <package>.tar.Z (a compressed tarchive) and is found in the top level
  38. directory of the host ftp.ee.lbl.gov (128.3.112.20). Don't forget to
  39. set binary mode before retrieving. For each package, send bug reports
  40. and questions to <package>@@ee.lbl.gov.

  42.     arpwatch - An ethernet monitor program that keeps track of
  43.     ethernet/ip address pairings. This package requires the bpf and
  44.     libpcap packages.
  45.  
  46.     bootbootp - A secondary bootstrap program used to boot a client
  47.     over Ethernet. It uses the BOOTP protocol to obtain client and
  48.     server info and NFS to load the boot image. This package is
  49.     experimental and only supports SPARCstations (sun4c and sun4m). It
  50.     can only be built on a SPARC runing 4.4 BSD.

  52.     bpf - The Berkeley Packet Filter. Contains kernel modules for HP
  53.     BSD and SunOS 3 and 4. NB: Full OS kernel source is required for
  54.     installation.

  56.     cslip - Compressed serial line ip package. Currently, the only
  57.     supported systems are SunOS 3, SunOS 4 and 4 BSD.

  59.     dexpire - Dynamic expire replacement for the netnews expire
  60.     program.
  61.  
  62.     flex - A fast scanner-generator compatible with POSIX lex.
  63.  
  64.     glish - A language, interpreter, and C++ class library for building
  65.     loosely-coupled distributed systems.
  66.  
  67.     libpcap - Packet Capture library. An uniform library interface to
  68.     the packet capture systems including the Berkeley Packet Filter
  69.     (BSD and SunOS), Data Link Provider Interface (Solaris and SYSV),
  70.     Stanford Enetfilter (IBM RT/4.3BSD), Network Interface Tap (SunOS
  71.     3), Streams Network Interface Tap (SunOS 4), Packet Filter, and
  72.     Snoop (IRIX).

  74.     papers - A directory containing a collection of papers on
  75.     networking.

  77.     ppsclock - Pulse per second Streams module for SunOS 4. Allows
  78.     accurate timestamping of timecodes for use with XNTP and other
  79.     applications.

  81.     nslint - A lint program for dns files. It performs various
  82.     consistency and error checks on named(8) input files.
  83.  
  84.     sd - Session Directory. An X11-based audio teleconferencing tool.
  85.  
  86.     testbase - Tests decimal <-> binary floating-point conversion for
  87.     IEEE compliance.
  88.  
  89.     tcpdump - A protocol packet capture and dumper program.
  90.     This package requires requires the libpcap package.
  91.  
  92.     traceroute - Prints the route packets take to a network host.
  93.  
  94.     vat - Visual Audio Tool. An X11-based audio teleconferencing tool.

  96.     wb - Distributed whiteboard. An X11-based multicast tool.
