Welcome to the third disk in the Seriously Good Music series.
All SGM pieces are original, none of this European crap that seems
synonymous with the creation of music on a computer.
Just because this music is programmed doesn't mean that it has to sound that
way. There are, as always, some exceptions to the rule but it appears that
the high quality of the sound chip on Amy is an excuse to create some nice
samples with no music to back them up. There are also many cases where long
samples are just strung together with no attempt to create something new.
If that is your cup of tea then good for you, but to my mind there is a lot
more to it.
Anyway, if you stick to SGM then you can't go wrong. If you can, get hold of
some of Nic Cusworth's disks. Two pieces I really like of his are
Bellydancers and The First Day of the New Spring which is a really
innovative piece of Amy music. There should be some in general public
circulation by the time you read this - try 17 Bit software, I think Nic
said he was going to send some disks to them.
