- 1. History.
-
- This program has been developed, using 'plop' as a base, to enable
- me to display the HAM Overscan pictures I created with 'DigiView'.
- This program will display most resolutions, both NTSC and PAL. At
- the moment however the HiRes Overscan resolution is not supported.
-
-
- Version History : V 0.89L, March 1989.
- Lattice C, Some problems with the screen (Flash)
- ported source from Aztec to Lattice.
- Needed some polishing to satisfy the
- worlds pickiest Compiler.
- V 0.90L, April 1989.
- Lattice C, Solved screen flashing. Conformed the
- source to the ANSI C standard!. (more
- or less anyway). Exchanged the printf
- statements for a function Schrijf(),
- which conserves memory and is just as
- fast anyway.
- V 0.91, May 1989
- Lattice C, Found problems with Overscan and 1.3.
- Overscan wasn't recognized. Solved by
- using RemakeDisplay() after setting
- correct overscan values.
- V 1.0, August 1989
- Lattice C, Some problems that crept up have been
- solved, as well as enhancements made.
- - Interlace problem solved.
- - Extra-HalfBrite support added. Needs
- a CAMG chunk in the file though. If
- no CAMG chunk then HAM mode is set.
- ( See the IFF specs on 'Fish 185'. )
- There should be A CAMG chunk in all
- ILBM's.
- - HiRes OverScan problem not solved.
- Seems to be Systems bug.
-
- 2. Usage
-
- Usage : PicView [<DURATION>] <FILENAME>.....<FILENAME>
-
- How to use this program? Well it is fairly simple. You may specify
- the duration the picture is on the screen in seconds. If you don't
- specify the duration, the program defaults to a 5 second duration.
- For every picture specify it's filename. If the picture is not in
- the current directory you must also specify it's complete path.
-
- To clarify this I will give some examples.
-
- Display pictures pic_a pic_b pic_c pic_d and pic_e in the current
- directory for 10 seconds each.
-
- Command line : PicView 10 pic_a pic_b pic_c pic_d pic_e
-
- Display pictures pic_a pic_b and Pic_c on drive df1: for 5 seconds
- each. (Remember : 5 seconds is the program's default displaytime).
-
- Command line : PicView df1:pic_a df1:pic_b df1:pic_c
-
- Display pictures pic_a on drive df1:Pictures and pic_b in df2:show
- for 20 seconds each.
-
- Command line : PicView 20 df1:Pictures/pic_a df2:show/pic_b
-
- Requirements:
-
- - A standard Amiga with 512KByte of memory will suffice. Make sure
- though, that there is enough free memory or the program aborts.
-
- The program should support all regular Amiga devices. I tested it
- with DF0: to DF3:, VD0:, VDK:, RAM:, CARD: and DH0: to DH2:. It is
- compatible with both WorkBench 1.2 and 1.3. I haven not tested it
- with 1.1 though. It also works on Amiga 2000 with 1 MB of ChipMem.
- (Rev 6 and higher.)

-
- - PAL HiRes Overscan is not fully supported. The 'PAL' section of
- the screen stays black. (On an Amiga 1000, as well as the 2000)
- Irritating. This should not happen. Seems to be a systems bug.

- No phone, not since some guy woke me at 04:00 AM ( My local time,
- not his!). So, if you feel it is that urgent to call me you won't
- mind taking the trouble of finding out my phonenumber. But PLEASE!
- check the time-differences. I can get pretty uncooperative when
- called out of bed in the middle of the night!
