.topic NAME
Passwd - Change passwords in the password file
.endtopic
.topic SYNOPSIS
.noform
passwd
passwd <user> (only for superuser)
.noformend
.endtopic
.topic DESCRIPTION
All passwords in /dd/SYS/password are in crypted format (if you use
logon.) So it is nearly impossible to change the password by hand. As a
non super user you even don't have write access to the password file. So
you need this program to change your password. If you are in the group
zero you may change the password for every user by `passwd user`.
.endtopic
.topic CAVEATS
Be careful when changing the password file with an editor. Use only a
program which locks the password file, otherwise it is in danger to get
damaged.
