/f4DOWNLOADS/f0
_________
Pressing /f3F/f0 from within any SIG will place you inside the file transfer menu.
You'll have choice of which section of files you prefer to view, by pressing
its # next to the description.
Example: #1 Games.
#2 Graphics, etc....etc...
Once you've chosen you selection you have other options:
(D)ownload (V)iew files (E)xit (U)pload View (A)rchive
(C)hange file info (-)Move file
Many of these option have certain access levels.
All /f5RCIS/f0 Systems work on a credit system for downloads. For every 128 bytes
uploaded you'll get 128 bytes to download. Every System also may have options
for a higher ratio than 1/1. Check out your system.
You may View the files that are currently in the directory you are in.
When you choose View, the system will allow you to view either by <E>ntire,
<S>elective date, <K>eyword which searches for text in the directory. If
you choose <S>elective date you need only enter the crutial info, for
instance if you want to see downloads since 1990, just enter 90. If you
want to see 1990 in January, just enter 90/01
You can also <D>ownload assumming that you know the filename, you can
obtain the filename by using the <V>iew (discussed above) command.
You must have enough download credits to get a file otherwise the system
will say: Not enough download credits.
You may also <U>pload. By pressing U at the file transfer menu, the system
will ask: Filename: Please enter a filename preferably less than 10 letters
and include an extension so users may better know what type of file it is.
Now the system asks <X>modem <Y>modem or <A>scii. If your file is a text
file choose ASCII, however error checking doesnt work with ASCII. <Y>modem
here is really XMODEM 1K. Once you have chosen a protocol, set your terminal
program ready to upload. Once the upload is completed type in a 40 character
description of the file. PLEASE describe the file as good as possible. You
may even want to post a message in the SIG where you uploaded it to describe
it in more detail.
Downloading and Uploading works the same way for files as it does for messages.
/f5ENTER/f0 refers to a key on your computer's keyboard labeled "RETURN",
"SEND" or "ENTER" is sometimes referred to as "CR".
We hope you enjoy /f5RCIS/f0. If you have any questions feel free to <F>eedback to
the sysop.
