The Modify command is used to change some of the information associated
with a particular message that you have sent. Changing this information
should be done with caution and only after you understand the meaning of
the various message fields. The form of the command is:
M <number>
where <number> is the message number of the message you wish to change.
The message must be one that you have sent or an NTS message (type T).
In response to the Modify command, the BBS will be in Modify mode and will
prompt you with the current message information, and the modify mode prompt:
Modify: >
If you are not an expert user (see the X command), you will also see a
prompt for the modify commands, which are as follows:
T <type> Change the message TYPE to <type> (may be blank)
> <address> Change the TO address to <address>
@ <address> Change the BBS address to <address> (may be blank)
L <title> Change the message TITLE to <title> (up to next CR,
may be blank)
$ <bid> Change the message BID to <bid> (may be blank)
To exit modify mode and return to command mode, enter a blank line.
Note that there is some message information that you cannot change, and
you must get a sysop to help you if there are other modifications that
need to be made.
