Dear TeX user,
"Enclosed" you'll find the archives containing DVIMGR, a TeX previewer for
OSK and the MGR window environment. It is based on the TeX DVI-driver
family developed by N.Beebe, Utah, USA.
DVIMGR has been developed on a 68030/25MHz machine, running OSK v2.4.5 and
MGR v1.3 with a color display. I used the GNU Compiler v1.37 from Eltec to
compile it, but any newer compiler version should do the job as well. I
couldn't test if DVIMGR will run on an older or a monochrome version of MGR,
but I made all color and font numbers adaptable via a configuration file.
So let's hope the best.
DVIMGR is based on the DECWindows version by Christian Markus. I found the
sources for this version on our VAXstation. Please read the file 'readme.osk'
which is included in 'dvimgr.lzh' for more details and a full description of
DVIMGR and the original readme file 'readme.txt'.
Files
-----
The archive 'dvimgr.lzh' contains:
- dvimgr the executable
- readme.osk a full description of DVIMGR
- readme.txt the original readme file, coming with the sources
of the DECwindows version of this previewer
- dvixxx.* the description of the DVIxxx driver family from
N. Beebe
- dvixxx.hlp a short manual
- .dvimgrinit an example configuration file
The archives
'fontsxxx.lzh' (xxx = 69 ... 329)
contain the all the fonts I found together with the previewer sources on our
VAXstation. This seems not to be a full set of fonts and unfortunately when
previewing dvixxx.dvi DVIMGR will complain about some missing fonts. But
more fonts are surely available from your next FTP site. Therefore I think
it is not necessary to include more fonts into this archives in order not to
increase the size of the archives unnecessarily.
You'll need these archives if you only want to run DVIMGR.
The archive 'dvimgr_scr.lzh' contains all the sources needed to compile
dvimgr.
If you'll find any errors or have any suggestions or if I forgot something
please let me know.
Lars
