Greetings;
This clock for a disto 4n1 clock in slot 4 of an MPI, will not quite
fall over at midnight Dec 31st, 1999, falling over meaning that since
the chips years registers only contain 2 digits, 2000=1900 as far as
it is concerned.
This clock checks the year fetched from the chip at each minutes
refresh for values less than or equal to 80, and finding such a value,
adds 100 to it before putting the updated data into system year.
And rather neat, the chip is so dumb it doesn't know 1900 wasn't a
leap year, so we're home free, it thinks 00 was leap which 2000 is!
Reconfiguring this clock for different MPI slots is done in the usual
manner, by setting offset $13 to a value that is either $FF if its not
in an MPI, or to the MPI slot address-1. Then "vfy -f clock2000" and it
should be ready to go into your bootfile. Its presently set for
slot 4.
Have fun into the next century folks, the coco should live forever!
