  1.    The files in this directory implement the Secure Hash Standard
  2. as specified in the Federal Information Processing Standards
  3. Publication (FIPS) 180-1 dated 17 April 1995. The Secure Hash
  4. Standard is used to compute the hash of the leap second file
  5. leap-seconds.list, and the hash value is added at the end of
  6. the file. The details of the computation are described in the
  7. comments in that file.
  8.    This software was developed with US Government support and
  9. it may not be sold, restricted or licensed. You may copy these
  10. files provided that this notice remains in the copy. 
  11.    This software is provided AS IS with no warranty of any kind, 
  12. and with no assurance that it is useful for any purpose.
  13. It is provided with NO SUPPORT.
  14.    This software has been tested on an Alpha server and has been
  15. found to comply with the test procedures outlined in FIPS 180-1.
  16. Although it is a straightforward matter to port the program to 
  17. other hardware or software configurations, NIST will provide no
  18. support or assistance for this work and does not warrant that
  19. the program will perform correctly on any other hardware platform
  20. or software system.
