- QUICK NOTE FROM VARK
- °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
-
- This program can be used to transfer files from a CD32 to a Amiga. So all
- those CD PD disks can now be accessed via your Amiga. No need waiting for
- the illusive CD ROM drive for the A1200. Buy a CD32, it's much cheaper !
-
- Here's what you need.
-
- 1. This program on your A1200.
- 2. A CD containing Twin Express for your CD32 (try on CDPD II in JAMDISK
- drawer)
- 3. A Null Modem cable, 25 PIN DIN female connected to Amiga, and a 6 PIN DIN
- male for the other end of the lead connected to the CD32 AUX port.
-
- And that, my friend is that. I know it works cos I have got a 10 metre
- cable connected my A1200 to CD32. Read the docs below for more details on
- how to make a null modem lead. For obvious reasons you can only make a 3
- wire lead, using pins 2,3 and 7. But it does work me hearties ! I have now
- viewed the DIR of the Microcosm CD, and it makes interesting viewing !!
-
- Also, any owner of a CD32 may have noticed that when you lift the lid to
- change the CD it resets, effectively removing Twin Express from memory, and
- therefore enabling you to only copy files on the CD containg Twin Express.
-
- Well NOT SO !! In true Blue Peter fashion, here is how you do it !!
-
- Load CD with Twin Express on CD32. (I am assuming you have CDPD II). Create
- a RAD Disk by clicking on 3.0 drawer, and in DEVS drawer you will find one
- called DOSDRIVERS, click on this, then click on RAD icon. You should now
- have a disk icon below RAM DISK. Now copy Twin Express into the RAD Disk.
- AND NOW FOR THE MAGIC, anything copied into the RAD DISK will SURVIVE A
- RESET, as it acts just like a floppy disk, and remembers it's contents !!
-
- Have Fun !!

- Twin Express README
-
-
-
- FOREWORD
-
-
- This package contains the files required to install
- Twin Express, a fast file transfer program, on your system.
-
- DISTRIBUTION FILES:
-
- README : This file.
- TWIN : The file transfer program.
- INSTALL: The installation procedure.
- TWINDOC: A 30 pages user's guide.
-
- CURRENT LIMITATIONS:
-
- 1. The maximum number of subdirectories being processed at a
- given time is limited to 64. However, the file system can
- usually contain much more subdirectories than this limit
- without any problem. This value could be easily changed
- if anyone experiences a problem with it.
-
- 2. Total length of a file name and wildcards must be less
- than 35 characters (excluding the length of the directory
- path). The length of the directory path is limited by the
- length of the input line and/or the system limitations.
-
- 3. Total length of an input line (command + parameters +
- options) must be less than 120 characters.
-
-
- KNOWN PROBLEM:
-
- 1. On one Amiga system equipped with a de-interlacer A-2320,
- the screen was slightly disturbed during transfer tests.
- This seems to be related to interrupts being blocked for
- a period too long for this device. This problem should be
- fixed in a future release.
-
-
- NOTE:
-
- 1. If you want to transfer files between an Amiga and an IBM-
- PC, you need to pay only ONE registration fee for BOTH
- versions. Clearly indicate that you have both computers on
- the registration and order form.
