  2.  THE WEB OF FEAR.   Written by Mervyn Haisman, Henry Lincoln.   6 episodes.

  5.  COMPANIONS:- Jamie and Victoria.

  7.    The TARDIS is trapped by a web like substance and materialises in the
  8.  London Underground. They meet Professor Travers again and he admits that
  9.  he has reactivated a Yeti, letting the Great Intelligence back into the
  10.  physical world. The web like growth has invaded the underground and has
  11.  cut off the roads into London. The Doctor meets the C.O. of the army
  12.  operation, Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart.
  13.    The Doctor has to surrender himself to the Intelligence as it has taken
  14.  Victoria and Travers hostage. A brain-draining helmet is placed on his
  15.  head but he attempts to drain the Intelligence and is succeeding until he
  16.  is "rescued" by his friends.
  17.    This story somewhat shaped the future format of the show, that of alien
  18.  menaces in the modern world. It also laid the foundations for the 
  19.  establishment of U.N.I.T.
