  16. 81 shows this year (Note, the recent posts about the Dead being the top
  17. touring band said 78. This most likely didn't include the final 3-show
  18. Oakland run. With those 3 shows included, the total gross would be >$1M
  19. higher, but the average per show would drop, since Oakland is not a 
  20. stadium-sized arena). Yes, they did hit 50 by the end of June, but they
  21. do 3 East-Midwest tours a year, and the summer tour ended in June, so
  22. that tilts the average a little. They will most likely not play 50 by the
  23. end of June this year, probably 35-40. They have not played over 87 shows
  24. a year since 1970. The breakdown of number of shows (courtesy of DeadBase IV
  25. {a little older, so the early years might not be as accurate as they are now}
  26. and Eric Simon's stats for the last couple of years):
