The subject says it all. We have been mentioned in this months
issue of boardwatch magazine. Well maybe not internet dead heads per say,
but a small group of us in fidonet who have an echo going got mentioned.
Boardwatch did a three page spread (p 129-131) on something a few of us
in fido have been working on for the past year. It's called DBN (dead
board News) and is readily availible on most Grateful Dead related BBS's
in fidonet. It's a quarterly electronic newsletter published by Nick
Layman of Terrapin Station BBS,(914) 344-2860 (not the one in CT), and
co-edited by me Brian waite of Franklin's Tower BBS, (201) 794-8437,
which includes tapes lists, FAQ's, reviews, Grateful Dead Hour Timings,
and Setlists for the entire quarter leaving off from the last issue. It
also includes a graphical interface and is availible in 3 formats; dos,
windows, and amiga hypertext.
The Windows and Dos formats are on the gdead.berkeley.edu FTP
site named DBN3.zip and WIN-DBN3.zip for your enjoyment. All future
issues will appear there, and any additons, comments, or suggestions you
have may be sent to me (waiteb@iia.org). We are looking for sceen reports,
articles on what you think of the bands playing, tape lists, and
anything else related.
Remember that this has only been going on for 3 issues, so we are
still working some bugs out and trying different things out. Each issue
grows larger and with your help this time we will expand even further.
