  6. The MAX Shell
  7. -------------

  9. Integrating drop down menus and colorful graphics, the MAX shell is a
  10. user interface which provides ready access to all of the diagnostic
  11. and optimization features of Qualitas MAX. Among the features which
  12. can be accessed are ASQ, MAXIMIZE, and 386UTIL.  Also included is a
  13. full-screen editor and Update interface for applying update diskettes.

  15. Two internal features of the MAX shell are the on-line help section
  16. and option selector.  The on-line help contains valuable information
  17. on all facets of the product's use and configuration.  The option
  18. selector provides descriptions for Qualitas MAX options which can be
  19. added or removed from the configuration file through the easy to use
  20. menu.

  26. Troubleshooting the MAX Shell

  29. If you are experiencing problems when running the MAX shell, the issue
  30. can probably be resolved by using a command line parameter.  Command
  31. line options are specified when invoking the MAX shell at the DOS
  32. prompt ( ie MAX /V ). Options such as:

  34.     /B    force monochrome mode
  35.     /C    force color mode
  36.     /V    inhibit graphics logo on startup
  37.  
  38. can be used to work around most video issues.
