  1. Spiderweb Software presents a new, full-length, fantasy role-playing 
  2. shareware game for the Windows:

  4.         EXILE: Escape From The Pit v1.1

  6. "exile n. 1. Enforced removal from one's native country. 2. The state
  7. or circumstance of being in Exile."

  9.         Above ground, there is only one nation: The Empire. That's all
  10. it's called. What need is there for fancy names when there's only
  11. one game in town?
  12.         The Empire maintains order at all costs. Misfits, magical
  13. creatures, and petty criminals of all sorts are unwanted, and the 
  14. Empire has one tried and true way of disposing of them...
  15.  
  16.         They are sent through a one-way teleporter into the
  17. Underworld. And you are considered misfits.

  19.         There are hundreds of miles of tunnels under the surface 
  20. world, filled with creatures fantastic and mundane, all scrabbling 
  21. for the same limited food and limited space. It is into this hostile,
  22. war-ravaged land that you are sent to find your fortune. Or just 
  23. try to survive.

  25. Exile is a shareware full-length fantasy role-playing game. It 
  26. boasts intricate game machinery and an enormous, highly detailed 
  27. world. Among its features:

  29. *  An enormous cave system, filled with special encounters and 
  30. almost 80 towns and dungeon levels.
  31. *  Many, many people to talk to and puzzles to solve.
  32. *  Multiple game objectives. Win the game in one way, or several.
  33. *  Elegant, skill based character generation system. No character
  34. classes - customize your characters as much as you want.
  35. *  Full auto-mapping.
  36. *  Ultima-like top-down view.
  37. *  First half of game available, at full functionality, without
  38. paying. Play many of the towns and dungeons for free.

  40. Exile is $25 shareware. It requires Windows 3.1, a 13" monitor, 2 MB RAM,
  41. and 256 colors. Exile is compatible with Windows 95!
  42. A hint booklet is available for $6. The unregistered version of Exile may 
  43. be freely redistributed.
