The year is 2023. The government is now run more like a business as
federal bankruptcy and the small corporate skirmishes of the early 21st
century forced America to tighten its fiscal belt. Cuts and closings
were prevalent among many national programs including welfare, social
security, and foreign aid. For a while, however, one black hole remained
that sucked money from the people - the prison system. Desperate plans
called for desperate measures, and a plan was soon born to turn the
prison system into at least a break even proposition - the Russian
Roulette National Gaming System.
With national gambling at an all time high, the plan was simple and
foolproof. All national prisoners were offered a chance to be released,
no matter what crime they committed or how long their sentence was. The
catch was that they had to participate in a match of Russian Roulette along
with 3 other convicts. The three losers die, the winner walks a free man.
The games are broadcast on national television and all viewers are welcome to
place bets during the event, with the government receiving their small
house advantage, of course.
As a home viewer, you get to watch the action of the Russian Roulette
contests unfold as the prisoners participate in a desperate attempt at
freedom. Place bets in the comfort of your own home and view along with
your friends and family members. Let the games begin!
