Rules For The Internet Links 386 Pro Tournament
-----------------------------------------------
01) Fairness rules!
02) only playing level 'Pro' allowed
03) only starting from the Black Tee Boxes allowed
(Please Note: there are no Black Tee Boxes on some courses, but
if you select the Black Tee Boxes in the setup of your player
you will always hit from the right tees (this can be the Blue
Tees on some courses).)
04) no Mulligans allowed
05) a fixed playing period of two weeks for every course,
always starting on a Monday and ending on the Friday of
the following week
06) only the SVGA courses will be played
(Please note: Games that were recorded on converted
courses can't be played back on the SVGA courses.)
07) the courses will be played in the following order:
a) Harbour Town
b) Bountiful Municipal Golf Course
c) Barton Creek-Fazio
d) Mauna Kea
e) Pinehurst Country Club-2
f) Banff Springs
g) The Belfry
h) Innisbrook - Copperhead
08) every participant will receive a start number, which is kept
until he/she decides to play no more meetings
09) at least five different recorded games for the currently
played course must be sent in by each participant.
(Please note: You can send in more than five games during the
playing period; the five BEST scores count toward your total.
The games must be submitted via uuencoded E-mail to the current
moderator. Please uuencode the games under DOS, this will help
eliminate the submission problems. A DOS UUEncoder is available
from oak.oakland.edu in pub/msdos/decode as UUEXE522.ZIP.)
10) the games must be recorded during the playing period
(Please note: Links 386 stores the file creation date inside
the recorded games.)
11) the recorded games must have this filename structure:
xxx-y-zz.rec, where: xxx is the starting number,
y is the number of the tournament on
the current course
zz is the number of the recorded game
that was sent in
Example: 007-2-03.rec is the third game for tournament No. 2
on the current course by the golfer with the start
number 007
(Please Note: Links 386 Pro doesn't allow dashes in the name of
a recorded game when you save it. You must rename it under DOS.
When USING a recorded player, dashes in the name ARE allowed.)
Don't mix up the MEETING and TOURNAMENT numbers!
A meeting is the five rounds played on a course, a tournament
is all the meetings for all courses.
12) the current moderator compiles these two charts:
a) the best total scores for the five rounds
b) the ten best rounds
13) the leaderboard will be posted to comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.misc
and sent to every participant when the playing period is over
14) when the playing period for one course is over, the best five
recorded games of every participant will be stored on ftp.uwp.edu
in the pub/msdos/games/Links386_Tournament/'course_name'/Games
directory from which they can be downloaded via anonymous ftp
