  3.     This is the anonymous FTP area of eddie.mit.edu

  5. General questions about this FTP area can be addressed to
  6. "ftp@eddie.mit.edu".  Questions about specific packages should be
  7. addressed to their maintainers, typically as indicated in a README
  8. file in the same subdirectory.
  9.  
  10. In the past, we had to greatly restrict the inbound side of our ftp
  11. subsystem, as it was getting out of control and severe load was
  12. interfering with other system functions.  We are trying to keep our
  13. outbound FTP service available, and are looking for ways to revive our
  14. inbound service as well. Ideas are always welcome.
