  9. Release Notes:

  11. This release has been tested with Windows NT 4.0 with all
  12. available service packs as of this date. This applies to both the
  13. server builds.
  14.  
  15. With Windows NT Version 3.51 and above, the QLogic miniport driver is
  16. distributed with the Windows NT operating system. The driver included
  17. with this distribution is older than the driver enclosed on this 
  18. diskette even though the version number of the driver on the 
  19. distribution may have a higher number.  The version number on the 
  20. distribution reflects Microsoft's numbering to coincide with the 
  21. release version number. Install this updated version from the enclosed
  22. diskette for improved performance.

  45. Section 2  Updating the driver:
  46. -------------------------------

  48. If the miniport driver is already installed and you are installing an
  49. updated version of the driver, follow this procedure: 
  50.  
  51.     1. Open a DOS Command Prompt window.
  52.  
  53.     2. Change the current directory to the NT driver directory:
  54.  
  55.         CD \WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS
  56.  
  57.     3. Make a backup copy of the old driver:
  58.  
  59.         COPY QL10WNT.SYS QL10WNT.SAV
  60.  
  61.     4. Insert the diskette with updated driver and copy it over the
  62.        old driver:
  63.  
  64.         COPY A:\NT\QL10WNT.SYS
  65.  
  66.     5. Shutdown and reboot the system to use the updated driver.
