To install your new Kickstart 1.3 ROM, you will need a couple tools to
complete the installation. They are as follows:
Amiga 2000
----------
One medium-large, Philips head screwdriver
One small, flat head screwdriver
Amiga 500
---------
One small, flat head screwdriver
One #10 Torx driver
(You may be able to use a Hex Key driver, but I am not sure
what size would work in the TORX screws)
Print out, and use the instructions for your system (A500 or A2000).
The ROM replacement is fairly simply, even for the novice, as long as
you take your time, and obsevre some precautions. The chip is very
sensitive to static electricity. Do not remove the chip from the carbon
foam it came in, until you are ready to install it. If possible, touch a
grounded metal object before you handle the new chip, or any parts
inside the computer.
If you have any questions, or need further encouragement on doing the
installation, you can reach me through the BBS I run.
