  7.       Tjformat is for 3.5 Amiga disks only.  To the best of my knowledge,
  8. Tjformat is the strongest, most complete format program in existance. No
  9. shortcuts have been taken in creating Tjformat, the code is 100% my own.
  10.       With the ever increasing problem of purchasing  'reluctant' disks
  11. from all major brands, I had to have a reliable program that would format
  12. and check each and every byte on that disk.  Programming data does not come
  13. easy.  If the disk does not pass Tjformat, throw it away or return it. It
  14. cannot be used.
  15.       Tjformat is quite easy to use and all of the safeguards that I could
  16. think of have been added to catch any mistake that you might make.  With
  17. just a few simple instructions, you will be on your way to formating the
  18. most reliable disks possible.
  19.       To install Tjformat to your workbench disk **
  20.  
  21. Single Drive Systems:
  22.    1. Boot your system with workbench.
  23.    2. Open the ram disk icon.
  24.    3. Remove your workbench disk and insert the disk that has Tjformat on
  25.       it.
  26.    4. Open that disk and drag the TJFORMAT drawer icon to the ram disk
  27.       window.
  28.    5. Close that disk and insert your workbench disk, open it.
  29.    6. Drag Tjformat to your workbench disk.
  30.    7. Open the CLI icon and type  Copy ram:tjformat/fonts all df0:fonts
  31. Thats it.

  33. For dual drive systems **
  34.    1. Boot your system with workbench.
  35.    2. Place the disk with Tjformat in drive df1 or df2. Open it and
  36.       workbench.
  37.    3. Drag Tjformat drawer icon to your workbench.
  38.    4. Open the CLI icon and type  Copy df1:tjformat/fonts all df0:fonts
  39. Your ready.

  41.       To use Tjformat **
  42.    1. Click open the TJFORMAT drawer and then double click the program icon.
  43.    2. After the program starts up insert the disk that you want to format
  44.       and single click on the drive icon to begin the format function.
  45. What Happens:
  46.    After loading, the program checks to see what drives you have mounted and
  47. then prevents you from clicking on the drives that are not mounted. Then it
  48. checks to see if the disk is write protected or if you forgot to put one in.
  49. When the program completes the formating process, simulated boot blocks are
  50. installed along with a root directory and bitmap making the disk bootable
  51. and the proper sectors allocated to receive data. When this process is
  52. complete the program goes into a supercheck mode and checks each byte on the
  53. disk for errors.  If a error occurs Tjformat stops the checking function and
  54. hammers the disk as I call it.  This function usually has a 95 percent
  55. success rate. Remember that if Tjformat does have to go into the hammer mode
  56. that you are still dealing with a very weak disk and you should not have a
  57. lot of faith in the disk for retaining data and the lifespan may be short.
  58.    This function is what makes Tjformat so special. If a success is
  59. accomplished the program continues on checking each sector until the
  60. disk is completed.  If the hammer function does not succeed you will be
  61. informed and be given the option to exit the process and continue on with
  62. a different disk.  To exit the program, simply click no when asked if you
  63. would like to format another disk.
