REGISTER.DOC
If you are currently using the FREEWARE version of DICE, you may want
to register. Registration now costs $US 50 (FIFTY DOLLARS) (it used to
cost 40) I've upped it due to unexpected overhead in doing the
distribution, but it is still the deal of a lifetime. :-)
^
happy face
The $US 50 covers:
(1) The DICE C compiler system, fully self contained system that
includes the compiler, editor, utilities, commodore 1.3
includes and amiga.lib (2.0 includes and amiga.lib when I get
the license, 2.0 includes and amiga.lib for those that did
not get them will be available through an update)
The distribution also contains numerous example code and
prolific ON-DISK documentation, include documentation on the
standard C library (C.LIB). The Amiga autodocs are NOT
included as I have no license to do so.
(2) Initial mailing of the registered version of DICE, containing
3 disks.
(3) One free update (probably another mailing of 3 disks)
(4) Additional future registered updates on request will cost $10.
(5) If I go commercial you get a break on the price, at least
$commercial - 50 (if, when this occurs, you take the upgrade
and have yet to get the free update, it no longer is available
as updates would then be covered via commercial channels)
Additional features not available in the freeware version:
(1) The __chip and __geta4 keywords. Other keywords that exist
in both the registered and unregistered version are:
__near, __far, __aligned, __autoinit, __autoexit, and a
few more.
(2) floating point (single and double precision. No quad precision
yet).
(3) manual pages for the entire C.LIB library. Each routine is
documented and includes compilable example.
(4) source to the C library (this used to be available in the
unregistered version but is no longer)
(5) access to updates via email, USMail, or BIX (I choose the
method depending on your access and cost)
(6) bitfields (limited - not completely implemented yet)
(7) 68020/030/881/882 instruction support (not implemented yet but
will be within 6 months) -- registered users only
(8) registered function interface option. DICE automatically
assigns registered arguments for prototyped functions (but
you cannot specify which registers it will use so this isn't
good for C-only shared-library/device implementations)
Note that there is no bound manual. To register, send $50 in US funds
in one of the following manners:
(1) A check for $50 drawn on a US BANK
(2) An INTERNATION MONEY ORDER, drawn in US funds with the address
of a US bank on the front.
(3) Cash - US dollars (but this is not the best thing to send
through the mail!)
(4) Postal money order drawn in US funds. However, foreign postal
money orders must have a US bank address on the front and/or
specify (usually on the back) that they are redeemable in the
US.
DO NOT SEND CHECKS DRAWN ON (PERSONAL) FOREIGN BANK ACCOUNTS. I.E.
any check that does not have a US bank address on its front is a
pain for me to desposit.
You do not need to send any extra money for return postage, that is
part of the registration free.
