Its primary purpose is reconnaissance, command and control, chemical reconnaissance, surface-to-air missile platform, and an anti-tank platform. It is armed with a 14.5 mm and 7.62 mm machine gun. It has a four-man crew with space for four additional soldiers, the BRDM-2 is the stand-by Russian reconnaissance vehicle and can travel at speeds of up to 100 km per hour and is equipped with active Infrared night vision."
