"The Apache Longbow is a powerful armor killer on the modern battlefield. Its most effective weapons are the 30 mm chain gun with a rate of fire of 625 rounds per minute and four external hardpoints that can be fitted with a wide range or munitions, usually Hellfire missiles, aerial rockets or Stinger missiles. It is very effective for deep strikes but needs air defense support to clear its path for attack. The Longbow weapon system consists of a modified AH-64A airframe and a Fire Control Radar (FCR) mission kit that can track targets during all periods of reduced visibility that would normally defeat FLIR and TV. The mast-mounted fire-and-forget Longbow radar can lock-on before launch or lock-on in-flight as it scans for targets."
