  10. Do *NOT* use this patch without having a backup of the game, as the patch 
  11. alters the original gamefile. Just copy appropriate GP2.EXE (from the CD) to
  12. your GP2-dir if something goes wrong.

  15. This is my old GP Damage Editor (for F1GP/World Circuit) updated to work on
  16. Grand Prix 2. I had hoped that GP2 would have these options in the game - but
  17. they were not....

  19. Anyway, this editor/patch allows you to edit how easily cars get damaged in 
  20. the game. The things you can edit are how easily you:
  21.     
  22.     *are out of the race when hitting a wall
  23.     *are out of the race when hitting another car
  24.  
  25. Unfortunately I have not yet discovered exactly how to change the chances of
  26. damaging wings and wheels. These options were included in the old GPdamed but
  27. they are not here yet, sorry...

  29. What to do
  30. ----------
  31. Just copy the file GP2DAMED.EXE and GP2DAMED.BAT to your game directory and
  32. run GP2DAMED.BAT. The program will examine your GP2.EXE file and extract the
  33. present values and print them on the screen. The game's default values are 
  34. also printed.
  35.  
  36. You will then have the choice of (q)uitting or (e)diting the values. If you
  37. quit - nothing in GP2.EXE will be altered. If you want to edit the values, just
  38. enter a number between 0 and 32767 for each of the two positions. Lower 
  39. values mean a bigger risk to be sent out of the race when you have an accident.
  40. Note that the changes apply both to your own car and the computer controlled
  41. cars!

  43. Which versions of the game does GP2Damed handle?
  44. -----------------------------------------------
  45. UK, Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish and US versions are supported. I don't 
  46. know about the German and others(?) but I think it should work fine with them
  47. also. Otherwise, just restore your GP2.EXE from the CD if you experience a 
  48. problem.

  50. One way to check if your version is supported is to examine if the reported 
  51. values from GP2Damed match with the default values when you run GP2Damed for 
  52. the first time. If they do match, then your version is most likely supported.
