CALENDARS FOR FALL 1990
This file contains four full page calendar templates and two half page
templates for the months of September, October, November and December of 1990
including holidays, moon phases and some graphics. It was created using
Pagestream 2.0 and will only work correctly using PAGESTREAM 2.0 (If you are
a fan of Professional Page, I also have general calendar templates for
PPage.)
An extra personalized calendar can be very useful. I have one in the bathroom
to help teach my son the importance of brushing his teeth regularly. One in
the kitchen records the days he has completed all of his school work, report
card dates, etc. Take a little bit of time to personalize these calendars
with the names of family members, jokes and other fun information or
pictures.
Because the full page file is very large, you may want to tred lightly with
it in PageStream. I have had several lock-ups when flipping through it too
quickly or changing view aspect too often; I suspect that memory may be used
up rather quickly. I have had no problems with the half page files probably
due to the smaller number of bit-mapped graphics used.
Additional templates for the rest of the year will be forthcoming although I
am sure you can figure out how to adapt these to fit any month. I am also
considering creating templates for other applications requiring graphic
design that is both precise and creative. As a graphic artist, I have found
that working from old files to create a new one saves a great deal of time.
Many elements of a flyer, letterhead, program, newsletter layout, etc. remain
the same. Why not save some time placing and aligning boxes?
Of course, there are many elements that do not remain the same and require
the skill of a discerning eye to place the balance. If it were easy, I'd be
out of a job! These templates are offered as a starting point with perhaps a
few ideas of how to make your own printed copy more interesting and visually
appealing. Have fun with them and feel free to change them around.
If you have any specific needs for graphic layouts, please let me know. What
type of templates would be most useful to you?
How about . . .
* A Reference Card for PageStream 2.0 or any other program; maybe a
generic reference card you fill in yourself?
* A variety of Newsletter formats with ideas for customizing it for
your own purposes?
* A reference layout for printing out all those fonts you have
laying around and don't use because you forgot what they looked like?
* A variety of ideas for business card layouts?
* Program layouts?
There are so many applications that I am not sure where to start. Let me
know what you want and I will begin working on it tomorrow.
