Pyro! (C) 1988 By: Steve Jacobs & Jim Boyd (JULY 3, 1988- Just in time!)
THIS PROGRAM IS FREEWARE, UPLOAD IT! GIVE IT TO YOUR FRIENDS AND ENEMIES!
*******************NEW VERSION**********************
Pyro! is a screen blanking program that goes beyond the normal screen
blanking process. If there are ABSOLUTELY NO input events (mouse movements,
keyboard presses or disks inserted or removed) Pyro! Takes over and starts
a little fireworks display in color. As soon as Pyro! detects any input
messages it closes down the fireworks display and you are right back
where you were.
To Unload Pyro! press and hold down the CTRL key and the Left AMIGA
key. Pyro! will tell you if it cleaned itself up.
The no events time is preset to about 2.5 minutes. You can now set
the delay time by entering the number of 10ths of seconds before the fireworks
start. For example:
run pyro 50 :Waits 5 seconds
run pyro 600 :Waits 60 seconds
To those of you that had memory problems before, try this one. Pyro! opens a
320 x 200, 5 bitplane screen, and is compiled to load into FAST memory. I
made no changes to that portion of the program, but I'm not really sure what
version of Pyro! was out there. Steve released this the first time.
Speaking of Steve, I'd like to make an editorial comment. He sold his AMIGA
and is now the owner of a Mac. His 1000 was destroyed by a bad hard drive
interface - and to make a long story short, it took 6 months to get it fixed
due to Commode-Door's sterling support. Steve was president of our (Charlotte,
NC) users group, a rabid Amiga fan and a creative programmer. We had many
plans for future work. What's going to happen to the rest of us when our 1000
dies? Are we to defect also or upgrade? C'mon Commodore, get your act
together!
ps: Any bugs leave EMAIL to me on People Link.
Enjoy! - Jim Boyd (P-link DOUBLE-E)
