From: Chuck Maier .. ReAuthor of TAG BBS
To: Users and Potential users of TAG (Rev 2.01 and above)
Much has been said about whether this software is FREEWARE, SHAREWARE,
VAPORWARE, or WHATEVERware!! So, in this light I am taking the opportunity
to propose the following new catagorie...
"CHUCKWARE"
I don't plan on getting rich from TAG... but in all the work.. the
hours, weeks, months... the phone calls.. the personal attention to users..
the patience and perserverience.. It would be nice to get something from
every user of this BBS software.. but WHAT???
I could specify a dollar figure.. $25.. $35.. I've found that most users
I've spoken to seem to like TAG because of the "no price-tag" policy. Thats
fine with me... but what does bother me is hearing "I am going to use TAG
until I can save up for BBS-PC.." or whatever other glitzy, feature packed
BBS system. Maybe its the BOX you don't get with this!! If you help me
with your suggestions... I can make TAG so good that no-one will want to
look for any other BBS at half-the-price!!
This BBS is a labor of love with me.. which is why I am so open to
suggestions and impliment the ones that make the most sence almost
immediately! Can you reach 'them' this way? Do 'they' listen?
So what am I trying to say...??? Just this... The cost of operating this
BBS, providing support both in time and money... are strictly out of my
pocket. The phone line installation alone set me back a cool $110 thanks
to my good friends at the Diamond State Phone Company!
If you feel the software and support are worth something... send
what YOU think its worth. If you don't have it to send... keep it. I have a
job... a wife (who is gracious enough to allow me the time to do this), and
my health... and maybe a few new friends out there in Amigaland. I figure
I am pretty rich now!!
Have a better one... if you can!
Chuck Maier
P.S. If anyone knows of an Ex-amigan that wants to get rid of his/her
Amiga (if YOU don't feel you need it).. Let me know. It would
do a lot to free up this operation for software development!
My address, BTW, is Charles Maier

And if you need a DOLLAR amount... I think that $50 is a meager
amount... and certainly only half what you MUST pay to get its 'next
best' entry in this software catagorie!!
