Transcription: Few periods of American history begin and end on a more sharply defined event than the decade of the twenties. The era began right after the climax of what was then the bloodiest war of all time, and it ended with the most devastating economic collapse in modern history. A not particularly able man, Warren Harding, was president at the turn of the decade. He was followed by a not particularly interested man. Calvin Coolidge spent two to four hours of every working day taking a nap. Coolidge was followed by Herbert Hoover and Hoover was followed by the Great Depression.
