INTRODUCTION
As you awake from a dream, you see a young woman, wearing an apron with the
logo of the Cajun Fried Chicken House on it. She is distraught! She
explains to you that the Chicken House just got in a shipment of Chicken
Gizzards that she was going to fry, but suddenly, a particularly large
Chicken Gizzard escaped from the Chicken House, got a job as a Tapdancer at
the local Burlesque house, and is now terrorizing the neighborhood! She
begs you to do something about the insane Chicken Gizzard, before everyone
goes crazy!
This game, PORK 2, was written using Adventure Game Toolkit, AGT, by
Softworks, whose address is 43064 Via Moraga, Mission San Jose, CA, 94539.
AGT is a fantastic game-writing program. If you enjoy PORK 2, I urge you to
get your own copy of AGT.
Welcome to PORK II, The Gizzard of Showbiz!
This game is a sequel to PORK I. PORK I was a parody of Infocom's great
Text Game, ZORK I; PORK I was enhanced and rewritten in AGT format by Dave
Malmberg of Softworks, Creators of AGT. The present game, PORK II,
continues the tradition with a parody of ZORK II, the sequel to ZORK I.
This game has a TAME or a LEWD Mode of play. The LEWD mode is not
recommended for youngsters. To get into the LEWD mode, type, at any prompt,
LEWD
You will have to answer a quiz to prove that you are old enough before the
game will enter LEWD mode.
To return to TAME mode, type TAME.
For additional instructions, answer YES at the Prompt following this
Introduction.
Before the game begins, if I may, I would like to have a few moments to
tell you about ZORK, the fantastic Computer Game program from Infocom about
which these PORK Parodies are written. ZORK is one of the greatest computer
text games ever written, (as well as one of the first). The game, as
available for PCs, is divided into 3 parts, ZORK I, ZORK II, and ZORK III.
In addition, sequels (BEYOND ZORK, ZORK 0, and the new graphics-based
RETURN TO ZORK) are also available. RETURN TO ZORK was described in a
preview in Strategy Plus Magazine as "prime candidate for Adventure Game of
the Year!" (OK, OK, so I wrote the Strategy Plus preview too, you caught
me.)
The Game of ZORK is absolutely fantastic, and what is more, is currently
available either from your local software dealer or directly from Infocom
in the LOST TREASURES OF INFOCOM Volume I set, along with many of the other
classic text adventure games from Infocom. This package offers enormous
entertainment value at a rediculously low price. If you have not played
ZORK yet, I urge you to run down to your software store, or to contact
Infocom, and obtain your own copy of the LOST TREASURES OF INFOCOM
collections! Believe me, it would more than be worthwhile at several times
the very low price.
