~Tie Fighter
Loads of edit cheats - Compiled by Simon Burrows
After last month's bundle of edits concentrating on the file
FLIGHT.OVL, here's another selection, this time looking at your
pilot save-game files. To make the edits, load up the game,
create a new pilot at the registration desk, then drop back to
DOS and load your file into a Hex-Editor such as NU. Now make
any of the changes listed below depending on your desired
results :-
~Pilot's Condition
Change the byte at Hex-location 01 to:
00 -for- Alive
01 -for- Killed
02 -for- Captured
~Pilot's Rank
Change the byte at Hex-location 02 to:
00 -for- Flight Cadet
01 -for- Flight Officer
02 -for- Lieutenant
03 -for- Captain
04 -for- Commander
05 -for- General
~Training Simulator
Change the appropriate Hex-locations listed below to read 04:
5A -for- TIE Fighter
5B -for- TIE Interceptor
5C -for- TIE Bomber
5D -for- TIE Advanced
5E -for- Assault Gunboat
5F -for- TIE Defender
~Combat Simulator
Change the appropriate Hex-locations listed below to read 01:
208, 209, 20A and 20B -for- TIE Fighter
210, 211, 212 and 213 -for- TIE Interceptor
218, 219, 21A and 21B -for- TIE Bomber
220, 221, 222 and 223 -for- TIE Advanced
228, 229, 22A and 22B -for- Assault Gunboat
All bytes betweeen 220 and 233 -for- TIE Defender
NOTE : When editing your pilot for Tie Fighter, Interceptor and Tie
Bomber, and you find that when you play the game all enemies
are impossible to defeat, edit your pilot so that your
shields are off.
