Transcription: Up to about 10,000 BC, Australia was attached to New Guinea and Tasmania, forming a vast land mass. Much of the continent is bush and desert, but the Aborigines were able to traverse it. Until the 1860s, the Aborigines were the only people who knew the interior of Australia.
