Linear Info-Access:
═══════════════════
Linear Info-Access is an electronic selection guide containing TI Linear
devices recommended for new designs. It is intended to aid in the selection
of devices for consideration. It is not intended to replace data sheets or
data books in providing technical information for specific designs.
New features:
═════════════
* New Products - over 100 new products have been added and can be
found in the applicable category or accessed directly from the New
Products menu. You can immediately see new products that have been
added in each category and then go directly to the product
information.
* Expanded and updated list of TI Linear Products Technical
Literature
* Four new categories:
3 V Analog-to-Digital Converters - see Data Conversion Circuits
PMOS Switches - see PMOS Switches
RC Receiver/Transmitters - see Telecommunications Circuits
SCSI Terminators - see Data Transmission Circuits
* Global Partial Part Number Search - from the Main Menu, search for
base part numbers and get a list of all matches; choose one and get
the applicable product information.
* "Hot links" to product information from a menu - you can pick a
particular device from the menu and go instantly to the product
information.
* Search by "Opamp Type" - Rail-to-rail, single supply, precision,
low-noise, low power, low voltage and/or high speed can be selected
from a pop-up menu (up to 5 pop-up menu items may be selected).
* Parametric Search - up to the first ten selected parameters are
numbered for you to indicate the search sequence.
* Exact Match Search - Pop-up menus now allow up to five choices for
exact match. For instance, now you may select up to five temperature
ranges instead of just one.
* Display Sequence - The sort order for parametric displays can now be
modified for the entire program from the Utility option of the Main
Menu.
* A complete set of the available TI operational amplifier,
comparator, and building block Macromodels is included. Designed
for use with the circuit simulation program Spice, they allow the
efficient simulation of complex circuits without having to use
transistor level models of amplifiers. The Macromodels and Linear
Info Access are contained in separate files and install and operate
independently.
* Linear Info Access still fits on a 360k diskette if necessary
(separate the minstall.com and mm94.exe files from the install.com
and the ti94e.exe files) and requires an MS-DOS or compatible com-
puter (640k RAM and a hard disk drive are recommended). The program
can be operated within Microsoft Windows; an ICON and PIF file are
included.
* A Microsoft Word for Windows (version 2.0) file named MACROMOD.DOC
is included. This file is a brief technical description of the Macro-
models.
Files included on this disk:
════════════════════════════
This disk contains the following files:
TI94e.EXE (compressed Info-Access files)
INSTALL.COM (installation for TI94e.EXE)
MM94.EXE (compressed Macromodel files)
MINSTALL.COM (installation for MM94.EXE)
README.TXT (this file)
Other files will be uncompressed during the installation procedure.
Troubleshooting installation problems:
══════════════════════════════════════
This program requires an IBM-PC or compatible machine with 640K of RAM and
DOS 2.1 or higher.
To install the Texas Instruments Linear Selection Guide to drive C,
in a directory called "TI", type "INSTALL C TI", then press the Enter
key. To install the software to another drive and/or directory, use the
syntax: "INSTALL drivename directory". DO NOT include the colon or
backslash with "drivename."
If you are installing under the Windows Program Manager, you will not see
the DOS screen that gives instructions when incomplete parameters are used.
To install the linear SPICE macromodels, type "MINSTALL drivename direc-
tory", then press the Enter key.
