ocr: Hapuna Beach has peautiful white sand and a good view of Maui. There is a protected cove with tidepools on the north end of the beach. Swimming gives way to surfing in the winter, when the waves are bigger and more treacherous. (This beach is also famous for the high number of tourist drownings every year.) Hapuna has full picnic and barbecue facilities.
