  8. This CD ROM is designed to run on Archimedes and RISC PC computers which
  9. have at least 4 megabytes of memory and a CD ROM drive. For instructions on 
  10. how to install and run this program, please consult the booklet provided with
  11. this disc. A5000 users and those with little available memory may find the 
  12. following measures are of help:

  14.   * Quit all other applications
  15.   * Experienced users can rmkill/unplug unused modules
  16.   * Reduce the fontcache, system sprite and RAMFS areas to their minimum
  17.     sizes
  18.  
  19. If in any doubts please contact the technical helpline at the number listed 
  20. in the booklet.

  23. Users are allowed to extract graphics from this disc to use in
  24. their own work so long as it is not sold for gain or used outside the     
  25. purchasing school. The video clips and sound samples must NOT be extracted 
  26. from this CD ROM or run from any other medium unless you have the necessary 
  27. site licence. Full details of copyright are given on the printed booklet 
  28. supplied with the disc.

  33. The 'ACTSHTS' directory on the disk contains a number of activity 
  34. sheets which can be used in conjunction with the Eureka CD ROM. Please 
  35. consult the booklet for instructions.

  38. ON-LINE SUPPORT
  39.  
  40. Anglia Multimedia's online services provide all disc users with extra 
  41. learning materials linked to its discs. This is available on the World Wide 
  42. Web at http://www.anglia.co.uk. A more comprehensive learning service is
  43. provided by Education Anglia, to be found on AOL UK (America On-Line). Log
  44. on to your AOL site and use the keyword facility and the word ANGLIA for
  45. quick access.

  48. SAVE STATUS MULTIUSER/MULTIPLATFORM APPLICATIONS
  49.  
  50. For details of the use of the save status and resume feature, please
  51. consult the booklet provided with this disc. 
  52.  
  53. By default the program saves a file named RESUME.KAS within the Extras
  54. folder. (Assuming that the Extras folder is called '!Eureka+', the
  55. file resides at '!Eureka+.Scripts.Status0.Resume'). This file is
  56. automatically reloaded if the user chooses to 'Resume from Previous
  57. Session' when re-running the disc.

  59. The Resume file and other status files located within the 
  60. '!Eureka+.Scripts.Status' directory are listed in the 'Load Status' menu. 
  61. Status files from elsewhere are loaded by dragging them onto the program's 
  62. main window.

  64. When used in a classroom environment, it may be preferable to instruct
  65. each user to save their own individually named status file before leaving 
  66. the disc. By saving an individual status file each user can return to 
  67. their previous session by explicitly loading their status file. Status 
  68. files may be saved within the default directory on the system hard disc
  69. or to a floppy disk.

  71. Status files are cross-platform. If you also have the Windows MPC version
  72. of this disc you can interchange status files between computers as follows:

  74. MPC to Acorn:
  75.  
  76. 1. Run this CD ROM on your MPC.
  77.  
  78. 2. Save your current status to an MSDOS format floppy disc.
  79.    
  80. 3. Remove the .KAS extension from the status file or save it as an Acorn
  81.    status file (selected from the 'Save file as Type: menu').

  83. 4. Run the Acorn version of the CD ROM on an Acorn RISCOS computer. 
  84.    Drag the status file from the MSDOS floppy disc onto the program's 
  85.    main window.

  87. 5. The Acorn disc should return to the same place and with the same 
  88.    status as the MPC version you were running.

  90. Acorn to MPC:
  91.  
  92. 1. Run the Acorn version of the CD ROM on an Acorn RISCOS computer.

  94. 2. Save your status to an MSDOS format floppy disc.

  96. 3. Run this CDROM on your MPC.

  98. 4. Load the status file from the DOS format floppy disc (select 
  99.    'Acorn Status File in the 'List files of Type:' Menu).

  101. 5. The MPC should return to the same place with the same status 
  102.    as the Acorn version you were running.
