  9.          The MPt Protocol(tm) is copyright (c)1990 by Matthew Thomas.

  11.          The registered version of The MPt Protocol may not be duplicated
  12.          other than for backup purposes.  A registered copy of MPt may not
  13.          be used in more than one computer at the same time, with one
  14.          exception:  Bulletin Board System Operators may purchase a single
  15.          license for the MPt Protocol which allows simultaneous use of the
  16.          registered program by multiple nodes of a BBS (the nodes must be
  17.          connected via a local area network, or a multi-tasking subsystem).

  19.          The serial number that is presented to registered users may not be
  20.          given to any other user for any purpose.  The serial number should
  21.          remain confidential, and is the user's assurance of a unique copy
  22.          of MPt which is registered in their name.
  23.  
  24.          Users are granted a limited license to use the Shareware version
  25.          of the MPt Protocol for a limited evaluation period of up to
  26.          30 days, in order to determine if it suits their needs.  Any other
  27.          use of MPt or use past this period requires registration.
  28.  
  29.          All users are granted a limited license to copy the Shareware
  30.          version of MPt only for the purpose of allowing others to
  31.          evaluate it, subject to the above restrictions as well as these:
  32.  
  33.             The MPt Protocol must be distributed in unmodified form,
  34.             including all program and documentation files.
  35.  
  36.             MPt may not be included with any other product for any reason
  37.             whatsoever without prior written consent from Matthew Thomas.
  38.  
  39.             No charge or payment may be accepted for MPt.
  40.  
  41.          Bulletin Board system operators may post the unregistered,
  42.          Shareware version of The MPt Protocol on their BBS for
  43.          downloading by their users without written permission only if the
  44.          above conditions are met, and only if no special fee is necessary
  45.          to access the MPt files (a general fee to access the BBS is
  46.          acceptable).

  48.          Distributors of Shareware and Public Domain software MUST obtain
  49.          written permission from Matthew Thomas before distributing The
  50.          MPt Protocol and must follow the above conditions.  Permission is
  51.          almost always granted; this requirement is necessary to ensure
  52.          protection for the author and users of MPt from unscrupulous
  53.          individuals.

  73.                           REGISTRATION/ORDERING INFORMATION

  75.          Registering MPt allows you to use the product after the trial
  76.          period.  Registered MPt users get their own User ID and serial
  77.          number, as well as top priority for software support.  (Limited
  78.          support is available to unregistered users).  Most importantly,
  79.          registered users know they are helping to make sure that high-
  80.          quality Shareware like The MPt Protocol continues to be offered
  81.          at low cost.

  83.          MPt registration costs $15 US / $19 CDN, which includes a
  84.          registration certificate showing a User ID and Serial Number.
  85.          For $20 US / $25 CDN, a disk containing the latest release of
  86.          MPt, along with a registration certificate can be obtained.
  87.          Payment may be in the form of check or money order.

  93.                                 REGISTERED LYNX USERS

  95.          Registered Lynx users may extract the needed UserID and Serial
  96.          number from their REGISTERED copy of LYNX.EXE, using the
  97.          LYNXMPT.EXE program, included in the Shareware distribution
  98.          version of The MPt Protocol.  See the MPt User's Manual for more
  99.          details.
