  1. .save_config
  2.  
  3.         Use this to save the current 
  4.         configuration. The current 
  5.         configuration will save the
  6.         current settings of the 
  7.         following:
  8.  
  9.            Serial port number
  10.            Port hardware settings 
  11.             (baud rate, parity,etc).
  12.            Recieve directory
  13.            Send directory
  14.            Default protocol
  15.            Status bar display/nodisplay 
  16.             flag
  17.            Hot key combination
  18.            Last dialed number
  19.  
  20. .save_schedule
  21.  
  22.         Use this to save the list of 
  23.         files to send, that are currently 
  24.         in the "Send Setup" list.
  25.  
  26. .transfer_status
  27.  
  28.  
  29.         The transfer status page shows the
  30.         current status of any files currently
  31.         being transferred. It also allows you
  32.         to cancel the current transfer, inhibit
  33.         the top of screen status bar, and
  34.         remove Backdoor from memory.
  35.  
  36.         Warning! Do not attempt to remove
  37.         backdoor from memory while currently
  38.         executing a program.

  40. .misc_setup
  41.  
  42.  
  43.         The Misc. setup will let you edit the 
  44.         current directories for sending and 
  45.         recieveing files, the current default 
  46.         send and recieve protocols, and the 
  47.         hot key to activate Backdoor.
  48.  
  49. .upload_setup
  50.  
  51.         Uplooad setup allows you to set up files
  52.         to be sent to other Backdoor users.
  53.  
  54. .hardware_setup
  55.  
  56.         The hardware setup will allow you to 
  57.         change the serial port parameters and
  58.         the modem setup string.
  59.  
  60. .port_no
  61.  
  62.         Enter in the port where your modem or
  63.         serial port is. Usally it is 1 or 2.
  64.  
  65. .baudrate
  66.  
  67.         Enter the baud rate of your modem or
  68.         serial port.  Typically, its 1200 or
  69.         2400. Supported baud rates are:
  70.  
  71.                 300
  72.                 1200
  73.                 2400
  74.                 4800
  75.                 9600
  76.                19200
  77. .data_bits
  78.  
  79.         Enter in the data bits for the
  80.         intended reciever of the file.
  81.         Usally this should be 8.

  83. .parity

  85.         Enter in the parity.
  86.           O for Odd
  87.           E for Even
  88.           N for None
  89.  
  90.         Usally, 'N' is used.
  91.  
  92. .stopbit

  94.         Enter in the number of stop bits.
  95.         Usally 1 is the number of stop
  96.         bits.

  98. .receive_dir

  101.         Enter the default directory where you
  102.         whish received files to be placed.  The
  103.         directory must be a full path name. For
  104.         example:

  109. .rprotocol_type

  111.         Enter the default protocol to use when
  112.         receiving a file.

  114. .send_dir

  117.         Enter the default directory where you
  118.         whish sent files to come from.  The
  119.         directory must be a full path name. For
  120.         example:

  127.         Enter the default protocol to use when
  128.         sending a file. The following are the
  129.         supported protocols:

  136.         Enter the first hot key.  The first 
  137.         key must be one of the following:

  139.                 Alt
  140.                 Ctrl
  141.                 Left Shift
  142.                 Right Shift

  144.         This field is toggleable

  148.         Enter the second hot key. The second 
  149.         key must be of the following:

  152.                 Prtsc

  159.         This field is toggleable

  164.         Enter 'Y' to cancel the current file
  165.         transfer

  170.         Enter 'Y' to stop the Backdoor status
  171.         bar from appearing at the top of the
  172.         screen.

  177.         Enter 'Y' to remove backdoor from memory

  181.         To use upload setup, move the   
  182.         hi-lighted cursor to a blank entry
  183.         and press the return key. The month
  184.         field of the date will be braketed
  185.         with 2 arrows. Use the arrow keys
  186.         to move to the field you whish to
  187.         modify and then press the return key.
  188.         Most of the fields are self expla-
  189.         notory.  The field before the
  190.         telphone number field is for proto-
  191.         col type. Enter xmodem, kermit, or
  192.         ymodem.

  194.         For the filename field when you 
  195.         enter the filename put in the full 
  196.         path name. Don't worry if there 
  197.         doesn't appear to be enough space 
  198.         as this field will scroll to 
  199.         accomodate a long path name.

  201. .fs_yr
  202.  
  203.         Enter the year in 2 digits. For 
  204.         example enter '88' for 1988.
  205.  
  206.         Note: If resultant time is effec-
  207.         tivly before the current time, it
  208.         will be rejected. So, if your want
  209.         to set the time for 1 tommorrow
  210.         morning, first change the date then
  211.         set the hour.

  213. .fs_month
  214.  
  215.         Enter the month in 2 digits. For
  216.         example enter 7 for July.
  217.  
  218.         Note: If resultant time is effec-
  219.         tivly before the current time, it
  220.         will be rejected. So, if your want
  221.         to set the time for 1 tommorrow
  222.         morning, first change the date then
  223.         set the hour.

  230.         day of the month.

  312.         codes needed to dial 'outside'.

  316.         Enter in the file name to send.
  317.         Please enter in only the file
  318.         name.  BACKDOOR will then look
  319.         for the file in the send directory.
  320.         You can change the send directory
  321.         in "Misc Setup" from the main
  322.         menu.

  324.         Also, if you whish to send several
  325.         files simply make another entry
  326.         in the next line down at the same
  327.         time.  BACKDOOR will automatically
  328.         send that file too, when it finishes
  329.         sending the first file.

  331. .terminal
  332.  
  333.     Quick Help:

  335.       Alt-d  => Dial a number
  336.       Alt-e  => Echo characters
  337.       Alt-g  => Capture screen
  338.       Alt-h  => Hangup phone
  339.       Alt-k  => Script invocation
  340.       Alt-p  => Change port parms
  341.       Alt-x  => Exit
  342.  
  343.         The terminal mode is really a window
  344.         that you can "pop" up on the screen
  345.         that will act like a "dumb" terminal.
  346.         Characters recieved during terminal 
  347.         mode while the terminal window is 
  348.         not up are saved in a internal 
  349.         buffer.  So, when you call up the 
  350.         terminal window you will see the 
  351.         characters recieved since you last
  352.         looked at the terminal window.
  353.  
  354.         While in terminal mode you may start
  355.         a file transfer by pressing the 
  356.         PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN keys for sending
  357.         or receiving. 
  358.  
  359.         Press the Alt-X key combination to 
  360.         exit the terminal mode.  
  361.  
  362.         Press the Alt-G key combination to 
  363.         capture a copy of the terminal screen
  364.         to a BACKDOOR.SCR file.
  365.  
  366.         Press the Alt-P key combination to 
  367.         change the current port or its 
  368.         parameters (baudrate, parity, etc.).  
  369.  
  370.         To have Backdoor "echo" characters
  371.         as they are typed in, press Alt-E
  372.         combination.
  373.  
  374.         To dial out press the Alt-D
  375.         combination and enter the telephone
  376.         number to dial, or on a Hayes 
  377.         compatible modem type ATDXXXXXXX  
  378.         where X is the telephone number.
  379.  
  380.         To hangup and exit the terminal
  381.         into modem mode, press Alt-H.
  382.  
  383.         Alt-k is used to start a script
  384.         file up.  Type in the full name
  385.         of the script file including
  386.         extension. To abort or exit a
  387.         script file press the ESC key.
  388.         Script file commands is described
  389.         in the documentation.
  390.          
  391. .rev_log
  392.  
  393.         Select this option to review the
  394.         backdoor log file. The log keeps
  395.         track of file transfers.
  396.  
  397. .modem_init_string
  398.  
  399.         Enter the string required for your
  400.         modem to dial out. Usually, it is
  401.  
  402.                 ATD
  403.         
  404.         Or for a telephone which requires a
  405.         leading digit to dial an outside 
  406.         number it is:
