  7. Hardware requirements:
  8.   MS-DOS computer with COM1 or COM2 serial port
  9.   floppy disk drive (specify 3-1/2" or 5-1/4")
  10.   power (5.5-6 Vdc plus 13-26 Vdc programming voltage)
  11.   serial cable

  13. Experience level needed for assembling kit:
  14.   You should be able to solder or wire-wrap and to read a 
  15.   simple schematic.

  19. The Bare Bones EPROM Programmer is a simple, menu driven system 
  20. for programming small EPROMs.  It consists of a programmer board 
  21. and software that runs on an MS-DOS type computer.  You must 
  22. supply the proper voltages and, for heavy use, you will want to 
  23. plug a zero-insertion-force socket into the machined-pin socket. 
  24. The programmer board connects through a serial cable to COM1 or 
  25. COM2 of an MS-DOS computer.  A menu system allows you to read, 
  26. erase, verify, examine, and program EPROMs, load from, and to 
  27. save to, MS-DOS files and convert to and from various formats 
  28. (Intel Hex, and Motorola S1-S9).  It includes an on-line help 
  29. system.

  31. At a minimum you need the Plans and software.  You can also buy 
  32. the printed circuit board, or you can assemble the programmer by 
  33. wire-wrapping or point-to-point soldering or even by using a 
  34. plastic breadboard or its matching printed circuit board 
  35. (available from Radio Shack).

  38. EPROM programmer of your very own, there is no longer any need 
  39. for you to deprive yourself!
