BLOKE 5.3 -- 27 December 1993
All files in this archive are Copyright (C), 1994 Lee David Rimar
# Bug fixes! Thanks to Mike Bader who spotted a long standing
error in the way area codes were inserted into listings.
BLOKE 5.2 -- 22 December 1993
# New exchanges added based on Ameritech customer mailing of
1 December 1993, which announced area code 810.
# Changes to reflect who is in 810: Bloke now lists exchanghes
with a trailing "s" for south (313) or "n" for north (810).
When listing BBS numbers, Bloke inserts the appropriate area
codes. Inserting the area codes into output is the default; a
new command line option "A" lets you omit the area codes.
# Renamed "UserDef2" to (area 119) to "Mobile." These may be
or may not be mobile or pager phones, but were only put here
because it was impossible for me to establish if they were
actually in 313 or 810.
# Renamed "UserDef3" (area 120) to "Everyone." ALL areas are
listed as local to Everyone. This is for telehpne company
numbers like 221 and 555. Bloke lists these "Everyone" numbers
are listed as being in 313 (south), but they can really be
dialed in both 313 and 810 ... everyone!
# Because this code model is going to be dead by 8-10-94, I
didn't include source code with this release. If you really
need it, look for a previous 5.1 release, like 5.1c; or contact
me by modem at 810-853-0000.
# Now compiled with Turbo Pascal 7.0, compressed with PKZIP204G.
BLOKE 5.1d -- 04 November 1993
# Not released. Internal fiddling with code.
BLOKE 5.1c -- 20 January 1993
# Minor code changes.
BLOKE 5.1b -- 20 September 1992
# When you select MID or FAR listings, BLOKE prefixes all BBS
numbers with "1-313-". This applies both to text files and
PCPLUS directories.
# All PCPLUS dialing .DIR entries are prefixed with 'A'. You
use the A prefix to select special dialing codes like "*70,"
(disable Call Waiting) or "*67," (block Caller ID).
# B2COMMO, a filter for converting BBS listings to a COMMO
dialing directory, is also included in this archive.
BLOKE 5.1a -- 20 April 1992
# An update to the database using info from 1992 phone books.
Bloke 5.1 -- 25 December 1991:
# New command-line and interactive options. For help, enter
BLOKE ? at the DOS command prompt, or just ? when BLOKE asks
for your phone prefix.
# Text output filenames are now area names (abbreviated as
needed), instead of numbers. Example: if you list local
numbers for the prefix 547, you get ROYALOAK.LOC instead of
LOC-547.LST. The matching PCPLUS dialing directory would
still be named BBS-547L.DIR.
# For ProComm Plus v2.0 and newer: The first 200 numbers of any
BLOKE text listing are also saved to a dialing directory.
# BLOKE warns if it finds a BBS with a phone prefix it thinks is
not in service. This is mostly a debugging feature. You can
use a BLOKE.MOD file to update BLOKE's database if needed.
Please let me know about any new prefixes you find.
