  3. This CD-ROM contains the SIMTEL20 MSDOS Archive.  
  4.  
  5. Although you may own this disk, you do not own the programs recorded on
  6. it.  Many of the programs on this disk are shareware.  You are free to
  7. try each program for a limited amount of time.  If you are satisfied,
  8. and want to continue to use the program, you are expected to register
  9. the program by sending a specified amount of money directly to the the
  10. author of the program.  In many cases the author will send you the most
  11. up to date version of the program and a printed manual.  Please check
  12. the individual files for specific information.

  14. If you have access to the internet, you can access the SIMTEL20 archives
  15. via anonymous ftp at WSMR-SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL.  There are also mirror sites
  16. at WUARCHIVE.WUSTL.EDU and OAK.OAKLAND.EDU.

  23. The maintainers of the SIMTEL20 archive asked me to include this
  24. disclaimer:

  26.     Due to the large number of files available, the SIMTEL20 archive
  27.     maintainers cannot possibly attempt to validate the proper
  28.     operation of the various programs.  When a program bug is
  29.     reported, immediate action is taken to either correct the error or
  30.     remove the offending program from the archives.  Still, users must
  31.     understand that all archive programs are offered AS IS, and the
  32.     archive maintainers specifically disclaim any liability should
  33.     these programs malfunction or cause damage, incidental or
  34.     otherwise.  When testing ANY new software, be certain that all
  35.     information stored on disk is backed-up before you start, so that
  36.     you can recover if files are damaged or erased.  This is
  37.     particularly true if you have a hard disk, in which case
  38.     malfunctions can be spectacularly disastrous.
