- Spoon Path is a memory resident program that allows your other
- programs to be executed when they are not in the current directory.
-
- Spoon Path runs on all computers compatible with the standard set by
- IBM (International Business Machines). It runs with DOS 2.0 - 3.3.
- It has not yet been tested with 3.4.
-
- This makes Spoon Path similar to DOS PATH. However, Spoon Path allows
- your other programs to find their overlay files and DOS PATH does not.
- Spoon Path has a menu driven on-line documentation. DOS PATH does not.
-
- This second feature makes Spoon Path similar to DOS APPEND. However,
- Spoon Path is CHEAPER than either DOS 3.3 and 3.4 which you must have
- to use DOS APPEND. Moreover, used with DOS 2.0 - 3.2, Spoon Path
- takes LESS MEMORY than DOS 3.3 or 3.4. Also, you don't have to
- increase your environment to handle longer paths.
-
- An advantage of Spoon Path is that it allows you to use your fixed
- disc's directory system as it was meant to be used -- in a way that
- groups your data files by context. Data directories tend to be
- smaller which means you can find things more quickly and you can
- often single data directories up to single diskettes.
-
- To use Spoon Path you need a word processor or an editor and a
- knowledge of DOS's hierarchical directories. Spoon Path's menu
- driven setup will show you the rest. Just execute SPNPTH.EXE. Each
- time you set up Spoon Path with its menu system, it tells you how to
- do the same thing with parameters. This is a painless way to learn
- how to set up or alter Spoon Path in your batch files.
-
- Spoon Path is a shareware product created and copyrighted by Spoon
- Software, Inc. Spoon Path requires a license fee of $20 per user
- after you have tested its suitability for your needs.

- This readme file is included with Version a of Spoon Path released
- in October of 1988.
