-
- MEGALINK is a streaming file transfer protocol developed by Paul
- Meiners of P & M Software. Paul sells an excellent shareware
- communications product called GT-POWER. MEGALINK is an efficient
- protocol that works very well in difficult environments such as
- Satellite transmission or PC Pursuit. It compares favorably with
- other popular streaming protocols.
-
- Megalink specifications have been donated to the Public Domain.
- The original source code for this special Opus version of MEGALINK
- was written by Paul Meiners and debugged by two Opus sysops in
- Houston. It follows the rules for external protocols in Opus and
- can be added by simply editing the Opus control file. As of this
- writing, there are two other known versions of the Megalink
- protocol available, but this is the only one known to fully
- function with Opus and use the fossil communications driver. It
- has been tested on a Compaq Plus, a 286 clone, and a Tandy 2000.
- It has also been tested under DoubleDos and Desqview v2.01 with
- Opus 1.03a. Batch file transfers work in both upload and
- download modes.
-
- INSTALLATION
-
- Place the file OMLINK.COM in your Opus directory. Add this line
- to your Opus control file and re-compile it:
-
- External Protocol C:\OPUS\OMLINK.COM
-
- That's all there is to it. I hope your users appreciate the
- addition to your system.
