  8. Welcome to QMM 3.02, The Qmail/PCBoard Manager. You will notice that there
  9. have been a lot of changes since QMM 2.20. Some of these changes are
  10. readily apparent and some are not, so please, read the file QMM.TXT
  11. first. It will save you a lot of time.
  12.

  14. If you are upgrading from QMM 2.20 or from QMM 3.00/3.01 you should run
  15. QMMSETUP and load in each of your QMM Profiles (I've changed the name
  16. from QMM Configurations), review each of them to make sure that they
  17. contain all the correct settings, especially the Qmail Door Prompts
  18. and the QMM Options. Then save them.
  19.  
  20. All your QMM Profiles must be saved to QMM 3.02 standards for QMM 3.02
  21. to work correctly!

  24. QMMSys/QMM 3.02 was developed using Telix 3.12 and tested by users
  25. with Telix 3.11. This should ensure that you will not have any
  26. problems when upgrading to Telix 3.12.
  27.  
  28. New features with QMM 3.02 are:
  29.  
  30.         Linked Profiles
  31.         AutoRecall Mode
  32.         Multiple Dialing Directory Support
  33.         Wake Up
  34.         Pending Actions Display
  35.         
  36. Linked Profiles lets you Link up to 12 Profiles for execution during
  37. a single online session. Great for BBSes with multiple Qmail Doors or
  38. for changing the sequence of QMM events.

  40. AutoRecall Mode is actually a new script, QMMAUTOR.SLC. AutoRecall
  41. Mode is like AutoPilot, but it calls each Profile once in sequence,
  42. then goes on to the next until a connection is made or the maximum
  43. redial limit is reached.

  45. Multiple Dialing Directory Support lets you enter the name of the
  46. Telix Dialing Directory in each Profile. This allows users with more
  47. than one Dialing Directory to use their existing Directories.

  49. Wake Up lets QMM send a <CR> 3 seconds after a connection is
  50. established to wake up those PCBoards which need an extra <CR>. 
  51.  
  52. DATAPAC users please note that you will need to toggle Wake Up ON.

  54. Pending Actions displays any File Transfer Lists or InstaScripts created
  55. for a <QM_ID> or Profile at the Profile Selection Screen.

  57. I've changed the name of AutoPilot Recall Mode to SessionSaver in
  58. order to avoid confusion with AutoRecall Mode. SessionSaver will call
  59. a Profile back if a connection is lost during an AutoPilot/AutoRecall
  60. session.

  98. To give you an idea of what QMMSys does, here is the Main Menu from
  99. QMMSys. As you can see, you can start many of your most useful
  100. communications applications right from this screen. In addition, you
  101. can toggle your Capture File and Log File ON/OFF, you can change
  102. Terminal Emulations as well as Comm Parameters from this menu.

  104. QMMSys provides handy Editors for Download, Upload, InstaScripts and
  105. AutoPilot Lists. It also manages those lists for you.

  107. QMMSys also allows complete colour configuration for QMMSys/QMM 3.02.

  135. The Files Manager will let you read a New Files List as created by
  136. Qmail and perform many operations similar of Vern Buerg's LIST.COM.
  137. You can move through the file, do a Zippy Scan for Text or a Locate
  138. Scan for Files, both forward and backward. You can jump to a specific
  139. page, leave a page marker and instantly return to that page. You can
  140. Shell to DOS or even do a DIR of your Download Directory.

  142. But best of all, The Files Manager will tag a file, using a lightbar,
  143. and save it to a download list which QMM 3.02 can use. It will even
  144. save the descriptions! The BBS Id and the Conference will also be
  145. maintained. Maximum file size is 3.5 megabytes, so most large DIR
  146. Files created by your BBS should fit.

  148. As we all know, developing a program such as QMMSys/QMM 3.02 requires
  149. the help of a lot of people. I would like to take this opportunity to
  150. publicly express my gratitude to this special group of people, for
  151. their wisdom, knowledge and insights, without which QMMSys/QMM 3.02
  152. would not have been created.
