  1. Welcome to WaveLab 1.0 for Windows 95 and Windows NT!
  2.  
  3. FIRST OF ALL: WaveLab is a truly native 32 bit Windows 95 program: it does
  4. not run on Windows 3.1 !
  5.  
  6. The WaveLab demo contains all the features of the normal version apart the
  7. following ones:
  8.  
  9. 1.  You cannot Save Audio files.
  10. 2.  You can create Audio databases but you can not reopen them.
  11. 3.  You cannot Record audio.
  12.  
  13. After unzipping WAVELAB.ZIP, you should see:
  14. 1) SETUP.EXE (to install WaveLab)
  15. 2) UNINSTAL.EXE (to uninstall WaveLab).
  16. 3) WAVELAB.WRI (some general informations).
  17. 4) READ_1ST.TXT (this file).
  18. 5) a folder called DATA with various files inside it (to be used by the installer)
  19.  
  20. You need the following minimum system for using WaveLab:
  21.     Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.51
  22.     486 microprocessor (486 DX recommended)
  23.     8 megabytes of RAM
  24.     6 megabytes of hard disk space for program installation
  25.     16 bit compatible Sound Card
  26.  
  27. If you use Windows 95 (rather than Windows NT), it is important that your
  28. virtual memory settings are correct if you work with large audio files. In
  29. the Windows 95 Control Panel, open the System setup and click on the
  30. Virtual Memory button. If you are not certain to have at least 20 MegaBytes
  31. of virtual memory space, then click on the button "Let me specify my own
  32. memory settings". As a minimum, you should specify 20 MegaBytes or, if
  33. possible, a value between 2 and 3 times the amount of your computer RAM memory.
