- Many Amiga owners write to magazines and appear on mailing lists and
- IRC channels trying to trace old Amiga games. There are several places
- where you can find old games.
-
- Car Boot Fairs may sound like a domain for raggers, but if you look
- at them you can find some great bargains. Recently I was at a sale
- and I found some old man selling original boxed copies (albeit quite
- worn) of Monkey Island II, Curse of Enchantia (yep Jazz is an Adventure
- game fan!) and Cannon Fodder all for 50p each! Along with an A590 hard
- disk for a tenner!!! So have a look at car boot fair and even the local
- jumble sale if you can face the embarrassment (just go quickly and then get
- out! :-)
-
- You can try placing adverts in magazines and usenet groups, but I feel
- the best thing to do is call some game mail-order companies. I know
- of one company that I discovered a while ago thanks to The-Point which
- I wasn't aware of. I thought it would be worth repeating that the "Computer
- Cavern" can get hold of almost any classic Amiga games, and CD32 games,
- and in fact games for ANY computer! Yes, I got games for my Atari console,
- Speccy games and C64 games, I even got a long list of Dragon 32 and 64 games!
-
- They even say that "we have lists for ALL home computers/consoles", so
- why not get in touch with them (yes it's almost like a free advert, but
- it's worth it, they do a great job). The company it is run by is Capri
- Marketing, and they can be contacted on:
-
- Computer Cavern
- Capri House
- 9 Dean Street
- Marlow,
- Bucks SL7 3AA
- England
-
- Call/Fax: 01628 891022 (international: 0044 1628 891022)
-
- They also have lists for the CD32 and CDTV which are very comprehensive,
- and if you don't have any particular games in mind, you can call them
- and ask them for a free list of they games for ANY computers/consoles you
- wish, and they'll send an example of the games they have to you with in
- the week. If you need any particular game then the chances are that they
- probably have it, or find it.
