In updating the ANAGRAM utility to use "wild cards", it occurred to me that
it would be simple enough to modify ANAGRAM to print only "bingos", words of
*seven or more* letters to the listing file. No sooner thought than done.
To use BINGO, just type: bingo xxxxxxx, where xxxxxxx is the letter set to
test for "bingos". Of course, if the letter set has fewer than seven letters,
no "bingos" will be found. Wild cards, or "blank tiles" are supported by the
BINGO utility. Just type a question mark (?) for each blank, for example:
bingo abcde?? will find all bingos containing abcde and *any* two other let-
ters. Any number of blanks is permissable. Typing bingo ??????? finds *all*
7-letter bingos. They are saved to a *.bgo file text file.
For those of you new to the Scrabble (tm) world, a "bingo" is a word using
up the entire rack of seven tiles. This nets an extra 50-point bonus over
and above the word score, the equivalent of a home run.
