ONEDOC.COM
----------
A utility to accompany shareware releases of QBALL.
(C)1993-5, Benjamin W. Hartley. All rights reserved.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
NOTICE: documentation produced by this utility is for your own
personal use ONLY, and is not considered part of the QBALL Share-
ware package!!
Distribution of ONEDOC output files in any form is forbidden.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
This shareware release of QBALL includes documentation in two
files: QBALLODD.DOC and QBALLEVN.DOC. The intent is to save you
some paper by printing all the odd-numbered pages on one side of a
"deck" of fanfold paper, and the even-numbered pages on the other
side of the same "deck." You may also use a dot-matrix printer
with a single-sheet feeder, though you'll have to reverse the
sheet order for the second pass.
If, however, you'd prefer one consolidated document file, per-
haps to change the formatting, or to use a file-search utility
like Vern Buerg's "List," ONEDOC.COM combines the two files into
the single document QBALLSW.DOC.
Let's say that you want to put QBALLSW.DOC in the "QBALL\DOCS"
directory, which is on your "D" hard drive. Ensure that there is
indeed such a directory. You may want to log onto the "D" drive
drive, and enter these commands in sequence:
MD QBALL
CD QBALL
MD DOCS
Now proceed to run ONEDOC.
1. Make sure that QBALLODD.DOC, QBALLEVN.DOC, and ONEDOC.COM are
all in the same directory or on the same disk. (Yes, all three
will fit on a 360K floppy.)
2. Log into/onto that directory/disk.
3. Enter: ONEDOC
4. Press [F] to write QBALLSW.DOC, the consolidated documentation
file. If you've changed your mind, press [ESC]ape to quit.
5. Specify the drive to which you want QBALLSW.DOC to be written.
You MUST specify a drive!!! (If you're working with a 360K disk,
you must specify a different drive; the QBALLODD.DOC, QBALLEVN.DOC
files, the ONEDOC utility, and QBALLSW.DOC won't fit on a single
360K floppy.)

6. Specify a directory for QBALLSW.DOC if desired, or press
<enter> to write QBALLSW.DOC to the root directory of the chosen
drive. If you specify a directory, make sure that you do > NOT <
precede its name with a "backslash" (\), and be sure that the di-
rectory does, in fact, exist!
| Example, using the drive and directory specified above:
|
| When prompted for a drive, press
|
| "D"
|
| (just the letter, no quotation marks!).
|
| When prompted for a directory, enter
|
| "QBALL\DOCS"
|
| (just the text, no quotation marks!).
7. ONEDOC will beep when finished. You may now edit, reformat,
strip linefeeds, or otherwise fiddle with QBALLSW.DOC to your
heart's content. Remember that QBALLSW.DOC is for your use only,
and is NOT to be distributed to others in any form, under any cir-
cumstances.
